Everyone on the side of Hogwarts remained dead silent as they all gazed at Harry Potter, the boy who once lived.

Y/n, she felt a single teardrop down her cheek as she stared at her lifeless brother.

Things were supposed to work out and the good side was supposed to win, and yet nothing seemed to be working out.

"W-we need to go," she barely murmured to Draco.

At this point, her only worry was leaving before Voldemort saw the side they were standing on because her and Draco needed to return to Scorpius before all went downhill.

But she acted too late. Lucius Malfoy was calling for them, which brought Voldemort's attention onto them.

"What do we do?" Y/n whispered as Draco tensed up.

Voldemort was calling them back over to his side, yet Y/n and Draco knew where they wanted their loyalties to lie.

They were tired of working for the person who ruins so many lives... They were tired of causing harm to everyone, and so, Draco took her hand and shook his head.

Gasps filled the air from the Dark Side as Draco declared their decision to stay. Of course, Voldemort ridiculed them for 'being weak' and such, but they stayed strong.

"We're making the right choice," Draco whispered to his beloved Y/n, "Just ignore all he is saying."

And ignoring him worked out well, to their surprise.

No one expected Harry to fall from the arms of Hagrid, alive.

Everyone had accepted the fate of the war when Harry was declared dead, but yet it seems there may be another fate.

As Draco returned to Y/n after giving Harry his own wand, Draco grabbed her hand and pulled her into the safety of the corridors.

"Okay, if Potter doesn't make it, we're leaving to get Scorp and then moving far away from here, okay?" Draco panted as dueling broke out once more.

Y/n closed the gap between the two and nodded softly.

His cold lips pressed a kiss to the top of her forehead just as debris from the castle showered over them, hinting to them that they needed a new hiding spot.

Draco held a firm arm around her waist as they made a run for the Great Hall, however they pulled up short.

Subconsciously, Draco pulled Y/n in closer to him as Nagini slithered violently at the both of them.

He made a grab for his wand, but only to remember he had given it to Harry.

Y/n had hers, and she tried to throw the ugly creature off with spells, but that only seemed to anger it more so they ran back down the corridor.

Somehow, Nagini only gained on them. They knew Voldemort wanted her to pursue them for picking the good side.

They ran out into the courtyard, hoping that being out there would make it harder for Nagini to track them, but it didn't, and as they ran, Draco stumbled on a piece of brick from the castle. They both fell down and scrambled behind a destroyed castle wall.

Their blood ran cold as Nagini only continued to pursue them, but this time, they had accepted their fate.

Draco drew Y/n in close to his body. Her face buried into his chest and he stroked her hair softly as they waited for it to all be over.

Yet that moment never came.

Slowly, Draco opened his eyes and all that was there was Neville with a sword in hand. He looked shocked as he stared at the spot where Nagini had just stood.

"T-thank you," Draco just barely managed to say as Neville helped both Y/n and Draco up.

Neville gave them both a small nod and smile as Y/n gave him a hug. "Thank you, Neville," she whispered quietly before returning to Draco's side. "Stay safe."

"You too," Neville replied just as a commotion broke out.

The three of them ran into the safety of the corridors because Harry and Voldemort were back, still dueling.

A wave of relief washed over Y/n at the sight of her brother still having a fighting chance.

"Remember the plan," Draco whispered into her ear as they hunkered down so they could watch the duel.

At this point, this was it. It was just Harry and Voldemort. Whatever happened between them would decide the fate of everyone.

All they could do was pray Harry won... his chances were slim... but he made it this far.

Y/n took Draco's hand and rested her head on his shoulder while the battle went on.

Their nerves were going through the roof and all they could hear were the loud beats of their racing hearts.

But it did work out. Y/n leapt up from where she was hidden as Voldemort collapsed. She was the first one to throw her arms around Harry as everyone else took in what had happened.

But Harry had done it... they were all free to live their lives like normal because of her brother.

So a while later, Draco and Y/n could not wait much longer, and so they returned to Scorpius. He sat up in his crib and a house elf was attempting to read him a book.

The house elf seemed happy with the return of Y/n and Draco and left the room as Y/n picked up her son from his crib.

He immediately nestled himself into her arms and tears filled her eyes as she glanced down at her beautiful son.

Draco chuckled softly and pulled the two of them into his arms because they had done it. They had achieved the impossible because they were free to live on their own and to make their own choices... something they never thought they would be able to do.
