4 years later
'taeyong, relax!' taeyong's sister swung her fragile hand and planted it harshly on taeyong's arm.
'and how was that meant to relax me!?' taeyong threw his hands up in confusion. 'oh my god, maybe it's too tight, oh my god. does it look too tight?'
'for the 127th time, taeyong. it's not tight! you're just nervous!' taeyong's sister straightened up his suit. 'babe, come here.'
taeyong's sister's husband picked himself up from the sofa in their shared room and moved next to her, analysing the other's fit in front of him.
'you look great, taeyong.' he put a wide smile on his mature face. for some reason, seeing the smile plastered on his face made taeyong think about his nephew, and that brought ease upon him.
at last, he took one last look in the mirror, a deep inhale and exhale following up.
'i think i'm ready,' taeyong looked at his sister, who also brought a smile to her face. she slowly moved behind him and laid her hands on his shoulders, looking at him through the reflection of the mirror.
'mom would be proud of you.' she whispered, rubbing his shoulders. 'so proud.'
taeyong switched around to face his sister, holding her hands. 'thanks for being here with me.'
'i wouldn't miss my little brother tying knots with the love of his life, now would i?' she pursed her lips, her voice cracking a slight bit.
before they could continue with their beautiful moment, doyoung bursted into bedroom riotously. as soon as he saw his best friend, he threw his hands over his mouth like the dramatic person he was.
'oh my fucking god, taeyong, i'll cry right here right now,' doyoung approached his best friend.
his bunny face morphed into a gleeful smile, his eyes glistening as he moulded his hands with his best friend's.
'this day really came huh.' doyoung choked out. 'i'm so happy for you, my best friend.'
'stop, i can't cry right now cause of my make up!' taeyong slipped away, chuckling to extinguish the burning sensation in his throat.
'ok, we got to go now guys let's go!' taeyong's sister finally stated.
taeyong took a shaky breath in as he held his best friend's hand again.
'you're going to do so well,' doyoung noticed the anxious expression on taeyong's face, giving his hand a little squeeze.
'thank you, doyoung.' taeyong connected their arms. 'for everything.'
'bitch, don't make me cry yet.'

this was it.
at last, after years had gone by, through heartbreak, fear and despair, came the light at the end of the tunnel. taeyong had finally reached the top of the mountain. and finally, he was alive, well and free.
his eyes scanned the room the moment he was in front of the long red carpet that flew to the altar. his eyes shook as he eyed the long carpet like it was never ending.
'are you ready?' his sister whispered, the music playing softly in the background.
he was. more than ready. this was what he was waiting for his entire life, since he laid his eyes on jaehyun the moment he laid on his bed for the first time.
it was happening again, his heart overflowing with passion.
finally, his sister locked arms with him, one step at a time, on the path of the long carpet. he smiled at his sister's husband's family, them whispering about how beautiful taeyong looked, despite looking nothing like a bride in a long white dress. he scrunched his nose at his nephew, who poked his tongue out in return following a wide joyful smile. he looked at his friends; yuta nodding at him with a proud smile on his face while ten and johnny held hands, ten fanning his heated face as johnny tried to calm him down, giving taeyong a pleased expression. and doyoung and jungwoo, doyoung sobbing like he was at a funeral as jungwoo patted his shoulder, his own eyes sparkling with tears.
