step. step. step. step.

god, i know i haven't been in touch...but please let this go well. please, even if its not my next soulmate. please, please, please...

the closer he got to the restaurant, the more his palms grew clammy. god, he had never felt this nervous on a date. never. everything felt different, as if it was his first date ever.

in a few metres, he would see his date. it was a 50/50 chance that it was either just another date...or his next soulmate, if that was even possible.

taeyong, breathe. breathe, please, breathe.

in a few metres, he was going to either reach the end of the tunnel, or he was going to fall to his death from the mountain.

his legs were starting to fail him, becoming more and more wobbly the closer he got. he wished he had at least brought an extra coat to distinguish the fact that he was shivering.

just one more corner and that was it.

taeyong almost had a heart attack the moment he felt his phone buzzing uncontrollably. before answering his best friend's doyoung call, he peeked at the time.

11:09...fuck.

'doyoung, what!?' taeyong answered, halted before turning the corner.

'taeyong, where are you?' doyoung's tone was alarmed.

'i'm about to go inside. what do you want?'

'i just want to say that i love you and that i really really reeeeally hope you don't hate me, taeyong. i love you so much but please don't hate me, i'm begging you...'

'doyoung, what did you do?' taeyong grew more anxious than ever.

'i'm begging you,' doyoung repeated in a pleading tone.

taeyong gripped his phone tightly before turning the corner and opening to door to the restaurant. the entrance bell almost made the male jump as he scanned the restaurant for a lonely male.

'doyoung, what did you-,'

taeyong had officially been silenced.

he felt the energy flow through his veins too speedily that he thought he could pass out right there and then.

his eyes laid upon who had never thought he would lay his eyes upon again.

for the first time, he felt real. he felt alive. he could feel the blood flow through his veins, his heartbeat, and the oxygen in him.

'you aren't crazy. it's really him, taeyong.'

it was the last thing taeyong could hear, because everything around him stopped. the people, the birds, the world, had stopped.

awaiting his entrance in a table right in the middle of the busy restaurant...

was jaehyun.
