present; jaehyun
'jaehyunnie!' jungwoo raced towards him across the street, almost risking his life in the process.
jungwoo was jaehyun's new companion, one he had met a few months ago in a job interview. then, jungwoo had gotten the job where jaehyun didn't, despite both being graduated engineers. but that didn't stop him from befriending the puppy faced male.
the two since had met up on their free days to further know each other until they pronounced each other as good friends, sealing the friendship with a drink one friday evening after jaehyun told him that he was doing his first shoot in the drama.
'jungwoo! try not to die next time!' jaehyun pulled his friend into a short hug and continued his walk home.
'finished another shoot?' jungwoo asked, assisting jaehyun by grabbing one of the grocery bags from his hand.
'yeah, but it was too long. we had to redo it multiple times all because joy kept on getting out of character.' jaehyun sighed profoundly, allowing the help of his friend.
'she can be quite unprofessional from what i've heard so far.' jungwoo shook his head in disbelief.
'i mean, she has her days.' jaehyun confirmed. 'but don't get me wrong, she'll really good when she's normally in character.'
'is it hard? you know, getting into character?' jungwoo questioned further.
'my role isn't that hard to get into character. like, it's just a college student in love with somebody.'
hilarious.
'seems easy when you already fell in love before.' jungwoo locked eyes with his friends, giving him a mischievous expression. 'and i'm sure you'll find him soon.'
jaehyun was never an over-sharer, especially when his secret was what made him the most vulnerable. but something about jungwoo allowed him to feel at ease to open up to him about his love life.
jungwoo had knew that the boy wasn't straight. gosh, jungwoo was a living gay radar, so he instantly asked despite crossing a personal line usually. but jaehyun didn't even deny the observation.
instead, he causally spilled his whole entire plan in reconnecting with the love of his life, hoping to feel complete and do what he loves in the process. to finally fulfil his dreams that his father so mercilessly trashed.
jungwoo was extremely supportive, grabbing the male's hand, and promising to assist him through his journey. jaehyun swore he had never had a friend like jungwoo before, and it made every morning seem brighter to know he had jungwoo by his side.
'by the way, did you see the fashion magazine this week? his face is all over it!' jungwoo threw his arm over the boy's shoulder, all jittery.
'of course...' jaehyun smiled to himself, feeling his face heat up at the mention. he had purposely subscribed to the magazine solely to find out if his love was on the magazine, even if it was a small section. yet lately, he was having a lot more spotlight than before.
a part of him felt so proud for the male, knowing how much he wanted to feel recognised when they were younger due to lack of it with his family.
but the other part of terrified. what if taeyong was not at all in his life anymore? what if he becomes famous and forgets about him entirely? could he ever feel prepared to see at least a dating a rumour on the next magazine?
his stomach would turn at just the thought, he swore his heart stung.
'you don't think he'll ever forget about me...do you?' jaehyun lifted his eyes, catching jungwoo's.
jungwoo let the eye contact sit for a second, letting several heartbeats go by. he finally lifted his lips into his infamous soft lipped comforting smile.
'no such thing. soulmates are meant to be together so the universe will be sure it will happen. be patient.' he replied, his thumb slowly caressing jaehyun's shoulder. jaehyun allowed himself to smile back at the his best friend's words, sighing in relaxation.
hope he's right.
the universe has to be on our side.
