'come on, don't be scared!' jaehyun called onto his lover, dipping his toes into the freezing water although the summer sun kissing their skin harshly. 'it's so nice!'
taeyong at last sighed in defeat, removing his top as he followed his boyfriend into the edge of the lake, moulding their hands together as they stepped into the water.
'kiss me right now if you love me.' jaehyun pulled his boyfriend into his arms, their knees just passed the cold water.
'jaehyun, it's so cold!' taeyong whined, shivering regardless of the heated weather.
'do you trust me?' jaehyun grabbed his chin, forcing him to connect eyes with him.
it was a defeat whenever taeyong's gaze met jaehyun's. he always fell into a trance-like state.
'kiss me.'
taeyong wasted no time, complying as he let their lips brush against each other until they moulded together.
but that was soon cut short of jaehyun shoved his boyfriend, allowing him to fall into the water as he chuckled.
once taeyong's head was out from the water, he splashed his boyfriend with annoyance.
'i thought i could trust you, bitch!' taeyong yelled loudly, splashing his laughing boyfriend. 'i hate you so much.'
jaehyun at last dove into the icy water, snaking his way to the deep end until he was as far away as he could be.
he drove deeper into the water, unbothered at the dirt underneath that haunted the other. he let his hands trail against the muddy floor, his eyes slightly open to see the glare just above the water.
it felt as if he was there for minutes. taeyong began to freak out, unsure as to whether his lover was ok or not.
'jaehyun?' he called out, the only response was the warm breeze of the summer wind through the ancient trees around him.
'jaehyun!' he went closer to where he had last seen him, disturbed at the thought of creatures beneath his feet ready to devour him.
'jaehyun! come back!' he called louder, his heart racing as he desperately felt around the water for his boyfriend. his eyes began blurry with fear as he panicked, diving into the water that he feared the most.
but what had his heart almost beating out of his chest was the sudden muddy hand that gripped of his leg, pulling him into the depths of the lake's water.
he tried to scream as loud as he could, the water blocking out anything and everything until he felt his body shoved from the touch of being brought back up to the surface.
he took a huge breath once he felt his head break through the water, thanking the heavens that he had made it out alive. surprisingly, yet unsurprisingly at the same time, his body was curled up into his disappeared boyfriend's arms, a concerned peer in his face.
'jaehyun!' taeyong slipped out from his arms, hitting the male with all his might. 'you fucking jerk!'
'i'm sorry, baby, i didn't mean to scare you like that!' jaehyun replied, his hands up in defense.
'i hate you! i hate you! so fucking much!' taeyong felt a lump form on his throat as his hits became weaker. 'i thought you died, you fucking idiot!'
'baby,' jaehyun gently gripped taeyong's wrists, pulling his boyfriend into a warm embrace. 'i'm sorry, so so sorry.'
taeyong remained in his arms, resisting to fight back because honestly, just feeling his love's chest grow and shrink was enough to calm him. to feel his heart beat was enough to bring peace over him. and to be in his arms was to complete his relief.
he couldn't fight back, despite jaehyun being an idiot sometimes. but that's just the way he played with him. and at the end of the day, he would still remain his source of happiness and comfort.
love was forever stronger than hate.
