Jennie arrived home after the detention, feeling more tired than ever. Jungkook kept talking and talking, but Jennie was distracted. She kept thinking about what Lisa was doing to her during the whole day. How dare she touch Jennie, when all she wants is distance from the school's freak show? When Lisa fingers brushed against Jennie's forehead, Jennie couldn't believe what was happening. What if someone saw that and misunderstood the situation?

Trying to forget about Lisa, Jennie walked into the living room, in the mood to study for the bio quiz. She found a bunch of envelopes on the table and she assumed the mail arrived while she was in school. She rushed towards it and went through the them, looking for a response from the job she applied to.

As things are not looking great in her home, Jennie thought helping would be great for her parents and little sister. But she would have to keep it a secret from her parents, which is why she is glad her parents never open her mail. They told her that they don't want her to work, because it could get in the way of her studies

She found a bunch of bills reminders and promotional stuff, until her hands landed on the envelope she was waiting for. She applied to a simple cashier job at Marcinee's, a high class boutique. Jennie only knew it's existence because of Jungkook's mother, who always talked about going to Marcinee's every Saturday noon. Jennie went there and they happened to be hiring part-timers. They pay $6.30 per hour and Jennie applied for a 3 hour shift.

Jennie opened the envelope and breathed out slowly. She needs the job. Gaining $18.9 a day will make a difference. And if she works there, maybe Jungkook's mother will like her a little bit more. Her boyfriend's mother is the typical rich, snobby, socialite woman in her mid-40s who believes no girl below her standards is good for her son. In Jennie's opinion, Jungkook's mother was a bit of a air head and she had no idea what her son wants.

Jennie squealed once she read that they are hiring her, but in the condition that she works 4 hours instead of 3, since their store just keeps getting too many costumers. Jennie wouldn't mind gaining an extra $6.30. She hugged the letter and twirled around the room. Suddenly she was in a better mood and no longer thought about Lisa.

She suddenly stopped twirling when she heard her mother coughing by the entrance door. Jennie hid the letter behind her and smiled at her mother. "Hey. How was the first day back?" Yejin, Jennie's mother, asked closing the door. She entered the living room and approached Jennie. If her mother didn't quit her modeling career because she was pregnant with Jennie, Yejin would have been the most beautiful model the world has ever seen.

"Great. I saw my friends and I already have a quiz tomorrow. If I get a good grade, I will be paired up with a bad student and if I get a bad grade, I will be paired up with a good student." Jennie explained sitting down on the sofa and placing the letter inside her pocket. Her mother sat next to her and nodded surprised that a teacher would come up with such a great way to improve the students grades.

"That's great. You better be one of the students who get good grades." Her mother told her and Jennie agreed with her. "How's Jungkook? When will he come by for dinner?" Yejin questioned, remembering that the last time she saw Jungkook was months ago. She knew hee daughter was serious about him, but at times, she has her doubts.

"He is good. We had detention for being caught inside the boys changing room kissing. But I will invite him to come by for dinner. Maybe on the weekend, if we both get a chance." Jennie responded and stood up to avoid her mother additional questions. But she didn't get to go far.

"Detention??!! On the first day?! Oh no, darling. He is not coming by when you both get the chance. Call him to come have dinner tonight. I think we will have to talk about this later." Yejin told Jennie and stood up from the sofa and went towards her room.
