38: The Tale of Kang Seulgi

"Alright, you have to tell us, who is Kang Seulgi?" Irene asked in the morning of the next day, as they were all gathered by the library. They had History class in 15 minutes, so they wanted to start the day by knowing everything there is to know about Lisa's nemesis.

"Is she the one you told me about?" Jungkook asked Lisa and she nodded her head. "Then in that case, I will go to class and study a little bit before the teacher arrives. You guys enjoy the story."

"I know the story as well. I will go with Jungkook." Chaeyoung told them and the two of them walked away talking among themselves. Everyone's attention went back to Lisa, who felt like she was being corned like old times, when she was the most hated girl in the school.

"I am really curious about this Kang Seulgi fellow." Taehyung confessed, and Lisa could see how much influence Sana had on Taehyung. He became a little gossiper and was always curious about everyone's lives.

"Seulgi used to be a great friend of mine, through elementary and middle school. We used to play together and do everything together. Even shower together." Lisa heard a gasp escape from Joy's mouth. She rolled her eyes and displayed a playful smile. "We were the best of friends and our families adored each other. A year before I moved here with my grandfather, Seulgi started treating me badly, always finding ways to embarrass me and prank me. She went from the perfect friend to the most hideous bully. After I moved away I never heard of her and now she is going to the same school as me. What a joy!"

"Wow, I thought he was going to be some ex-lover who knows the filthiest dirt on you. This has to be the unsatisfying intel I have ever heard." Lisa stared at Taehyung as the words just came out of his mouth. She snorted while looking at how empathetic he was. "Wow Lisa, what she did is in the past and all you have to do now is talk to her and have her apologize so you can move on."

"I am disappointed as well. I guess many people have a 'they were a friend who became a bully' kind of story. I should have left when Jungkook and Chaeyoung did." Irene responded, patting her mouth while yawning. Lisa flipped her middle finger at them and they all laughed.

"Geez, guys, you were the ones curious." Lisa told them and Sana laughed.

"We were curious for a gossip worthy story and not some lame tale. Just make up with her already. You might enjoy being her friend again." Sana's words did make Lisa think about how much fun she had being Seulgi's friend. They were inseparable and being with her would definitely make her happy, but she doesn't know if she's quite ready to look past what happened in the past.

"Sometimes we need to let go of the past to look forward to the future." Jisoo said to Lisa and stared at his watch. "We have to go, soon class will begin and the teacher will make all of us suffer if we're late."

They all left the library, towards the history class. Irene remembered she had to grab her notebook from the locker so she parted ways with her friends. On her way to the lockers she bumped into someone and looked back to quickly apologize. She noticed the person who she was apologizing to was Kang Seulgi.

"You do enjoy bumping against people, don't you?" Ireme commented, opening her locker's door and taking out her notebook. Seulgi approached her and stayed next to her locker, watching Irene flip through the pages of the notebook to make sure she had the right one.

"You are pretty cute. I've always thought bumping against people would lead me to the girl of my dreams one day. And you know what?" Seulgi asked her and Irene was still distracted looking through the pages. But she still heard her.

"What?" She asked, placing the notebook that was on her hands inside the locker and taking another one out.

"I am looking right at her." What happened next was a big surprise to Irene and Seulgi. She started laughing out loud, calling the attention of people passing by. Seulgi had to look in every direction, to assure herself that Irene wasn't laughing at her.
