34: To Speak The Truth

"I thought you wouldn't show up." Jungkook said when Lisa walked through the patio of her mansion to find Jungkook by the pool, taking pictures of the landscape before him. His camera pinned towards the small tulips bush, which Lisa has been cultivating since the beginning of last year, with Amelia's help. Jungkook was mesmerized by the bush, that he has been in the same spot, ever since he arrived.

Lisa had told Amelia that Jungkook would come by and to let him in and feed him if he is hungry. She never expected to hear from Amelia that Jungkook refused food and drinks, because of his rule of only eating once the job is done. Lisa was content that Jungkook had such graceful hobby like photography to distract him from what is going on with his mother.

"I had to. I want to make sure you are taking this as seriously as you claim. And it seems as if you are quite the photographer." Lisa teased him and sat down on the swinging chairs she has by the tulips bush in the patio. Looking at the tulips reminded Lisa of Jennie. She left Jennie fast asleep in the hospital and even though she didn't want to, she had no other choice.

"How's Jennie?" Jungkook asked while he snapped a couple more photos. Seeing Jungkook so focused on his photography reminded Lisa of where she saw his mother. Lisa didn't want to sleep with guilt in her conscience for not telling Jungkook what she saw today.

But it wasn't her business to butt in. Jungkook and her were already building a great friendship. It could all crumble down in pieces. For as far as Lisa knows, Jungkook's mother could have been talking to the doctor about a different topic, but in a deep corner of her mind, Lisa knew that what she saw was right.

"She'll survive." Lisa responded and Jungkook stopped taking photos to sit next to Lisa. Her eyes drifted away, and Jungkook noticed that Lisa was trying her hardest to not look him in the eyes. Jungkook had learned to study Lisa, the same way as Chaeyoung did. Lisa had this different attitude when she was dealing with a conflict. And if it involved someone she knew, her eyes would never meet theirs.

"What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost in the hospital." Jungkook questioned her, eyeing Lisa up and down, trying to figure out what she is hiding from him. Lisa felt uneasy and her leg was starting to bounce from the anxiety building inside of her. "C'mon, it gets better once you open up. You can talk to me."

Lisa took in a deep breath, before letting the next sentence leave her lips. "Have you noticed anything different about your mother? Besides the constant need to have family time and whatnot. Anything odd about her behaviour?" Jungkook though back for a moment, as Lisa's question ran multiple laps around his mind.

"Not really...wait," He answered at first, but then continued after thinking about it for a while, "actually, she has been acting a little bit weird, besides the spending time with family. Joy's mother passed by our house last week and said that my mother has been skipping her daily meetings about the Women's Society, which is odd, because the maid told me my mother always left during lunch time, which is when the meetings are scheduled. But I never thought much about it. Why do you ask?"

Here it goes, now or never, Lisa thought for a brief moment, giving her enough strength to tell Jungkook the truth. She didn't have much experience towards the relationship between parents and children, but she hoped Jungkook would know how to handle what she was about to tell him. But as her mouth about to open, Lisa couldn't find herself saying the whole truth. "Maybe you should go home and talk to your mother, because Chaeyoung and I saw her at the hospital. Her answer, might explain why she has been acting like that."

"I feel like you are not telling me everything..." Jungkook said with a dubious tone, scratching his chin, while analyzing Lisa's posture. She was sitting upright, legs closed and her hands in between her thighs. It was clear she was hiding something but she wasn't sure how to handle it. "But I will talk to her and see what she has to say."
