Lisa was shaking her leg, bouncing it up and down while she was outside of the operation room. The doctors revealed that Jennie badly fractured her bones and she needs to have a urgent surgery to fix it. Ms Momo had already called Jennie's parents and she was waiting for them at the lobby. Chaeyoung was next to Lisa and when she noticed how nervous her best friend was, she grabbed Lisa's hands to calm her down.

Lisa felt as if everything that goes wrong in Jennie's life was her fault. After their break up, everyone, including Lisa, noticed that Jennie wasn't herself most of the time. She was always finding ways to avoid Lisa in the hallways, even if they have the same group of friends and sit together at lunch time. Jennie had gone as far as to hang out with Chahee, whenever Lisa was around. Lisa was holding onto a great hope that they would be able to resolve things between them.

"It will all be okay. She will be okay. Don't worry. Jennie is very strong." Chaeyoung told Lisa, but she knew it wouldn't work. Lisa would only be 100% okay once Jennie was standing in front of her to show her that she is fine. But that's unlikely to happen any time soon.

"I should have told her not to dance. I should have stopped her. This is all my fault and if I didn't leave her to go to Thailand with you, maybe-" Lisa was crying out but Chaeyoung stopped her.

"You what? There is nothing you could have done to prevent this from happening. Jennie is in there because she fell, and not because you broke up with her. Stop putting the blame on yourself, Lisa. Rather than making you look crazy, you look rather pitiful." Chaeyoung lectured her, making Lisa shut her mouth altogether. She knew Chaeyoung wasn't here to participate in her pity party. This wasn't about Lisa's relationship with Jennie, but Jennie's well-being.

"I think I need some water." Lisa said after she and Chaeyoung were sat in silence. Chaeyoung nodded her head and stood up, extending her hand to Lisa. Lisa took her hand and followed her friend through the waiting area, towards the lobby.

Chaeyoung had become a pillar to Lisa and she couldn't be more thankful to have found a friend this caring and great towards her. So far, she was hit with multiple obstacles but right now she had the chance to enjoy a great friendship with someone as amazing as Chaeyoung.

As they were walking, Chaeyoung stopped in the middle and squinted her eyes, staring at someone. "Isn't that Jungkook's mother?" Chaeyoung asked after checking the woman she was looking at many times. She wanted to make sure she was seeing things right. Megan had only seen Jungkook's mother a few times but she still recognized her sense of style and facial features that resembled Jungkook.

Lisa looked where Chaeyoung was staring and she saw Jungkook's mother speaking with someone. Jungkook's mother was closing her blouse and following a woman dressed in a doctor's coat, inside a room. When the doctor closed the door, Lisa saw what was written on the plaque and her heart almost dropped to the ground.

Lisa did not want to believe her eyes. She realized Chaeyoung was staring at somewhere else and Lisa took this to her advantage and dragged the blonde girl towards the lobby to get some water. Hopefully Chaeyoung didn't see what Lisa saw, or else she would have mentioned something by now.

After what she saw, Lisa finally understood why Jungkook's mother was acting strange and demanding more family time. She was basically making memories and loving her family as much as she still can.

Not wanting to think about it, Lisa drank her water in one go and went back to the waiting area. Chaeyoung followed her, feeling skeptical about Lisa's behavior after seeing Jungkook's mother. Chaeyoung even wanted to ask something but she wanted to wait until Jennie's surgery was done to talk to Lisa.

Jennie slowly opened her eyes and shut them again, being surprised by the little light in the room. She opened her eye back again and noticed someone was holding her hand. She lifted her neck upwards and saw Ella sleeping by her bed. Jennie smiled to herself and rested her head against her pillow. A single tear streamed down her face as she thought about the pain in her leg. She had a cast on her left leg, from her knee to her ankle.

"You're awake?" Ella asked after feeling her older sister's fingers move slightly. Ella stood up to look at Jennie stranded on the hospital bed. "Mom, dad, Jennies is awake!" She called out in a low voice and her parents stood up from the couch they were sat on. Hyunbin and Yejin approached Jennie. Her father had a few tears in his eyes.

"Oh daddy's little princess. How are you? Does it hurt a lot?" Hyunbin questioned her holding Jennie's cheeks. She nodded her head and looked at her father with more tears pouring out of her eyes. Yejin knew that Jennie's sensitive side came from Hyunbin, since she was worried but managed to maintain her calm.

"Geez, Hyunbin, you are stressing her even more. The doctor said you are free from any danger, that you just remember to take your medication and you can take this cast off in late February. Unfortunately you won't be able to dance any time soon." Yejin explained and Jennie snorted, thinking how little her dancing career lasted.

"It's alright. I am glad that I will be okay." Jennie told them and she stayed in the room talking to her family. Jennie was thinking about Lisa's whereabouts but she didn't want to mention anything in front of her parents. Ella was the only one who knew Lisa broke up with Jennie. Her mother thought the two of them were still together and Hyunbin was just getting used to the idea that Jennie was no longer dating Jungkook, but he didn't know about Lisa.

After her family stayed with her for a while, they left to give her some space and some time to rest. Her mother promised they would be back at night to visit her, and possibly spend the night there, since she is being discharged on Friday. Jennie kept herself warm underneath the bed sheets, while staring at the ceiling. Her leg was still hurting, considering that the surgery lasted 4 hours. But she didn't want to preoccupy her family.

Jennie was mostly worried about the hospital bills. The room she was in, clearly wasn't going to be cheap. But at the back of her mind, a thought crept in. Somehow Jennie had a feeling that Lisa would be paying the hospital bill as her 'friend', since she doesn't want Jennie to worry about such things.

When Jennie's eyes were finally almost closing after a tiring day, she heard a knock on the door. "Come in." She said and she heard the door slide open.

Lisa approached Jennie's bed with a small bouquet of tulips. "I know you don't like flowers that much, but it's a form of courtesy." Lisa told her and Jennie giggled. Lisa motioned to Jennie to give her some space on the bed and Jennie gathered her strengths to pull aside for Lisa.

Lisa sat down at first and then she lied down next to Jennie, placing herself underneath the covers with Jennie. Jennie's heart was beating hard against her chest, having Lisa's scent so near her. This was such a familiar situation but Jennie still felt nervous around Lisa. Lisa grabbed Jennie's shoulder and pulled her closer, making Jennie's head rest against Lisa's chest.

"I thought we were just friends." Jennie commented wrapping her arms around Lisa's waist. Lisa, in turn, placed her arms over Jennie's shoulders. They were so close that none of them knew how to breathe properly. It was a indescribable feeling that still shook them to instability.

"Does your leg hurt a lot?" Lisa asked, evading Jennie's statement. Jennie nodded and buried her head further up Lisa's chest, her forehead reaching Lisa's neck. Lisa didn't want to let go of Jennie any time soon, even if she has to meet Jungkook in a hour. Lisa always felt like Jennie could clear her mind off all the problems she has.

"Stay until I fall asleep, friend." Jennie told her and Lisa nodded her head in response. The two snuggled on the bed, and Lisa watched Jennie fall asleep quietly against her chest. It was impossible to not love Jennie. And Lisa didn't think she would ever stop.
