43: Thoughts About Us

"Hey." Jennie said as she walked inside of Lisa's room. She has returned from classes and wanted to visit Lisa before heading home. It still felt strange how she was back together with Lisa, after all this angst and denial. They were a couple again.

Lisa was on her bed, her hair tied into a ponytail and her focus on something on the laptop. Even if her attention was glued on the screen of her laptop, she smiled the moment she heard Jennie's voice. Lisa loved whenever Jennie spoke to her with a shy tone. It was music to her ears and in her opinion, Jennie was the kind of art piece that gets everyone's attention at an Art museum.

"Hey." Lisa responded, while Jennie closed the door and sat on Lisa's bed. Nothing changed in Lisa's bedroom, besides the curtains going from white to baby blue. Everything else was exactly how Jennie last saw it.

"Am I interrupting you?" Jennie asked, only realizing the laptop and some A4 paper scattered around it. Lisa shook her head and closed her laptop, not before saving all the work she has been doing. She placed it on the floor and gathered the papers as well and placed them on top of the laptop. "That's good. I don't want to be on the way."

"You are never on the way. You are the way." Lisa flirted, leaning forward to plant a kiss on Jennie's soft lips. Lisa noticed her own lips were quite dry and reached for the chapstick lying on the small book shelf next to her bed. She applied some and after her lips were glossy enough, she gave Jennie another kiss, making latter laugh a little at her actions.

"How's suspension going?" Jennie asked and Lisa shrugged her shoulders. She laid back against the head of her bed and thought about it for a moment.

"I actually though that they would let me off the hook because I was going to expose Chahee. But then...all the bullying history she has...only made me look worse. But don't worry, I will be back tomorrow." Lisa reassured Jennie, who wasn't as worried about not seeing Lisa at school, since she was going to see her again.

"What were you working on?" Jennie asked, shifting towards the spot close to Lisa's legs. Jennie pushed Lisa's legs open, so she could sit on the middle of it. Jennie's back pressed against Lisa's chest and Lisa smiled down at Jennie, while putting her arms around her. Jennie felt like she became to clingy, since they got back together. After being months without Lisa, Jennie didn't want to let go of her...just yet.

"I am organizing this scholarship event tonight, you've heard of it, right?" Lisa said to Jennie, who nodded, remembering that Ms Tiffany was so excited she wouldn't stop talking about it.

Everyone in West Woods High was aware of Lisa's grand gesture to give three students the opportunity to have their future founded and secured. But some people also knew that the main reason for this decision was Jennie. Almost everyone was aware of Jennie's financial problems at home and Jennie always avoided such topic whenever she was with her friends. She didn't want people to pity her. She was far too busy thinking about Lisa and how she is going to pay for her senior year.

"Well, tonight is like the presentation about it. Sort of a gala. It will take place at the Milton Hotel and I would like it if you came as my date." Jennie turned her head around to face Lisa, as she just mentioned the word 'date'. The two of them never had a proper date, they jumped right into a relationship after Jennie fainted on Lisa's front door entrance.

"Date? Yes. Of course. It would be an honour." Jennie replied kissing Lisa, while her hand stayed on Lisa's cheek. "But I will have to raid my closet to find something proper to wear. I mean, as your date, I can't look like shit, while you slay everyone with your beauty."

"Jennie Kim, you could walk naked into a room and be the second most beautiful girl in there." Lisa stated and Jennie frowned at her.

"If I am second, then who is first?"
