{Y/N's PoV}

The very thought of becoming one of those brainless creatures haunted me. Just to think I might be one of those Walkers one day, wandering around and feasting on humans. I hope a cure for whatever this outbreak is comes out soon.

"Hey. Levi needs us." Erwin's voice interrupted my train of thought. I looked up at him, he sounded a bit urgent. I nodded and stood up so I was at his level. Well, just about his level, he was 6'2 and much taller than me. 

"What is it?" I inquired as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He smiled and leaned down to kiss my lips. I tried to make it more passionate, but he smirked and pulled away before I could. What a bastard, I chuckled to myself.

"He says it's an urgent matter." He took my arms from his neck and led me out of the RV. I smiled and stayed close by his side. Outside, Levi and Jean were standing on top of the RV, while Sasha, Connie, Eren, Mike, Marco, and Hanji were looking up at them. So that's why I heard noises on the roof of the RV.

"We're all here now you Mufasa looking shorty!" Connie shouted with a smirk. "What's so urgent?" Levi slimmed his eyes and let out a loud tch.

"There's a few Walkers coming up over the hill. Any volunteers to go and shoot a hole in their ugly heads?" Levi announced to us. Erwin and I exchanged glances, then looked over to Hanji, who's excuse was always 'I'm on my period.' It's impossible to be on your period for three weeks straight.

"I'll do it! I can even do it by myself! I'll slaughter all those little bastards!!" Eren shouted in a determined voice. I chuckled and shook my head.

"If anyone should go, it should be Mike and Erwin." Jean suggested from the RV. "Or even me, I'm so talented I bet I could-"

"Shut it!" Levi scolded him before pushing him towards the edge of the van. Jean yelled out and almost fell. He looked really stupid trying to regain balance. I looked over to Mike, who usually found this sort of stuff funny, but instead he just had a blank look on his face. His nose was twitching, but what was he smelling? All of a sudden, his eyes widened, he turned to me quickly.

"(Y/N), behind you!" He shouted. As swiftly as I could, I whipped around. Before I could react, an injured Walker, which was on the ground, sunk its sharp teeth into my calf. I cried out and crumpled to the floor, but not before using my other foot to smash its stupid little head in.

"Ah!" I cried out, Erwin knelt down beside me and did his best to hold me up. He used the back of his hand to feel my forehead, and his eyes widened slightly. "What? What is it Erwin?" 

"The fever...it's already starting...you'll be dead before nightfall." He solemnly told me. I felt my heart skip a beat as I sat down, my hand still wrapped tightly around my leg. So...I really would become one of those things. I wrinkled my nose as Erwin helped me over to the RV so he could treat the bite wound. I started to feel very warm and dizzy, was the sickness travelling through my body THAT fast?? 

"Oh god, I feel so hot..." I mumbled as I noticed everyone staring at me with horror in their eyes. "What are you all looking at?!" I hollered with a newfound sense of purpose in my voice. I wasn't gonna become one of those Walkers. I'm gonna fight this.

"(Y/N), drink some." Erwin lifted a bottle of water to my dry lips, but I kept my lips tightly clamped and moved my head away.

"No, I'm fine!" I choked out through my throat, which was dryer than a desert. My breathing quickened and became heavier as I closed my eyes. I felt so sick and nauseous, but it had only been two minutes since the initial bite. It really happened that fast huh?

My ears were ringing loudly, tuning out any other noise. I groaned in pain, knowing this was it. This was death. I noticed another figure in the distance. They were somewhere near 5'6, blonde hair and golden eyes. No, it couldn't have been...she died 7 years ago.

"M-Mama?" I muttered out. Erwin's motion on wrapping my leg up froze. He had been around dying people before, and he knew what was happening to me. He set his jaw and let go of the gauze. I glanced at him before...everything went black.

{Erwin's PoV}

I sat next to (Y/N)'s resting body, she had a sheet over her. I knew it wouldn't do much to restrain her once she became a Walker, but I didn't want to see her blank face. It pained me just seeing her eyes as she passed. 

"Hey, we're ready to leave." Mike called to me. I moved my eyes up to see everyone walking towards the various trucks we had. Oh that's right. We made plans to travel to the CDC building. 

"Yeah." I stood up with a grunt, taking one last look at (Y/N)'s body. Something seemed off about her corpse. Her arm was once by her side, now it was draped across her stomach. I raised an eyebrow and whipped the sheet off of her. Though I knew it was a stupid move, I lowered an ear to her mouth to hear a very faint breath. She was a Walker now, there was no reversing it. But I wasn't about to let her wander around like this either. My mind just wouldn't let me do it.

"(Y/N)." I whispered as I knelt beside her and took her left hand in mine. Her eyes slowly opened to reveal grayish-green irises, not her pretty (E/C) eyes. She looked at me with a sad expression. I didn't even know if Walkers could feel emotions, but that's what it appeared as to me.

"(Y/N), I should've asked you earlier." I pulled a silver locket out of my back pocket. "I wanted to give this to you yesterday, when there'd be a full moon." She reached her other hand up and tried to grab my shoulder, but I held her wrist. "I was going to ask you to marry me. I know it's not a ring, but it's still beautiful." I slid my hands under her neck and clipped it on. It's not like she knew I was doing this, but hopefully there was still a part of her left that knew who I was.

"Erwin?" Sasha approached, stopping about three feet away from me. I ignored her and gently stroked (Y/N)'s cheek with my thumb. She started to lightly growl as the disease overtook her brain completely. Right now she wanted to bite me too. I wouldn't let that happen. Not yet.

"I love you...wait for me darling. When my time comes, I'll find you." I resisted the urge to start crying, the tears were resting in my eyes, begging to spill off my cheeks. She started becoming more energetic and tried to bite and scratch me. I quickly grabbed the pistol from my belt loop and pressed it against the side of her skull. 

"Wait for me love." With that final sentence, I pulled her close and pulled the trigger. A loud bang filled the air and (Y/N)'s body went limp. I gently laid her down and rubbed her cheek one last time before arranging the sheet over her body.
