*******************************************

A big soft warmth was all you could feel underneath your body as your eyes slowly fluttered open. You were covered up to your neck by a cold satin navy blue sheet, which made you feel a lot more comforted. The only thing is, you didn't have satin sheets on your bed, you realized as you quickly sat up with a deep breath. You looked all around the expensive-looking room and started to worry a bit. Had you been kidnapped?

That's when you noticed you were almost completely naked. The only clothes you had on were your bra and your underwear. Goosebumps covered your body as you stood, but then you saw some clothes on the end of your bed. They weren't yours, but they were clean and they fit. It consisted of a light gray hoodie, black Adidas sweatpants, a plain t-shirt, and a pair of white ankle socks. On the chair in the corner by the bed, you saw your FBI jacket neatly folded, with your phone and wallet resting on top of it.

"Damn." You muttered when you tried to turn your phone on, but it displayed the dead battery symbol on the screen. You promptly decided to just escape without it. You slipped the clean clothes over your body, but not the hoodie. When you walked over to the double doors and tried to push them open, they opened with ease, which actually shocked you. You thought for sure you had been abducted by someone with a lot of money.

"Hello?" You called out softly, but there was no reply. As you made your way down the stairs, your feet tingled since you hadn't walked on them much. You winced, but kept going. When you saw the soft light of a fireplace emitting from another room with double doors, your curiosity led you nearer. You silently crept outside the doorway, peaking your head in, just to see if anyone is there. Sure enough, you saw a familiar figure standing by the fireplace with a glass of what looked like scotch. You tip-toed in, hoping not to disturb his calm appearance.

But then you felt it again.

The feeling of your heart fluttering was the only sensation in your body as your vision went black again.

[15 minutes later...]

Once again, you let your eyes quiver open. You felt warmed by someone's suit jacket covering you. You moved your eyes down to the black tailcoat that covered you, then shifted over to the figure standing above you with his glass of scotch in hand. You almost got your adrenaline rushing again, but got in under control before you scared yourself.

"You were out for a while." The deep voice greeted you. You immediately recognized it as...Erwin Smith?

"W-What? Why are you here? What are you gon-" You tried to back away further into the leather chair you were on, but the back of it stopped you.

"Hey, it's alright. I'm not going to hurt you dear." Erwin's gentle smile seemed to calm you down a bit. He took a tiny cube of ice out of his drink and held it up to your lips. "Here, it'll help your heart a bit." Reluctantly, you took it from his fingers and sucked on it. How did he know about your heart condition?

"Sho, why am I here then?" You asked through the ice cube.

"I suppose you don't remember. You passed out in an alleyway. My right hand man Levi saw you and brought you here so you'd get proper medical attention." Erwin explained softly. You watched in an awe-struck daze as he stood by the fireplace again. For a mafia boss, he certainly was very kind and sweet. Unlike any other mafia man you've encountered on the job.

"Oh. Well, just to clear some things up, you're not holding me hostage right? I can leave when I want?" You questioned and fiddled your thumbs under the tailcoat. He smiled at your uneasiness and shook his head.

"Of course I'm not holding you hostage. You can leave whenever you'd like." He reassured you, then took a sip of his scotch.

"Okay good. Also, how did you know about my heart condition?" Erwin turned to you and readjusted the collar on his expensive white dress shirt.

"You pass out when in typically adrenaline-rushing situations. When you fainted in the alley, you were angry because you got fired. Your knuckles were bloody and you dislocated your wrist, which caused your pulse to elevate. Then you passed out again when you saw me, because you were unsure of where you were, and probably thought you were kidnapped." What the hell, you thought. It was like this guy could read your mind or something.

"Anyways, you fainted once more because the uneasiness caused your heartrate to increase." He chuckled and slowly sipped the rest of his drink. "I thought you either had some sort of heart condition or you were just a very panic-y person. So thank you for confirming my hypothesis." Without even realizing it, your jaw dropped open, causing the ice to drop out, but you quickly caught it in your hand.

"You're pretty damn smart Smith." You said in amazement, earning a quiet laugh from Erwin.

"Thank you dear. Knowledge is greater than strength."

"Can...May I stay here with you...please?" You questioned quietly. Erwin turned to you again, but stayed silent, since he knew you were most likely going to say more. "It's just, my boss was also my boyfriend...and we kind of lived together. I really don't want to go home right now. I mean, only if it's okay with you, of course." Erwin looked surprised for a moment, but he sighed and smiled at you slightly.

"You can stay here. I...just have one warning for you. You might see some things that make you uncomfortable. If you want to leave after seeing those things, I won't stop you." You hesitatingly nodded and finished chewing on the ice cube. You had already seen your fair share of disturbing things, so it would be nothing to you.

[1 week later...]

You were sitting on your king-sized bed, reading Outlander, where Jamie and Claire were having sex...for the third time...in one book. You enjoyed it though, wishing Erwin would treat you the same way Jamie treated Claire. But you knew you weren't Erwin's type. You were probably too raunchy for his taste.

Your ears perked up at the sound of his footsteps walking down the hall. You happily put your book down and walked over to the door. You wore a lace, mid-thigh length red dress with a slit on the right leg, which was a bit uncomfortable, but you wanted to be ready for dinner with Erwin. Now that you were living with a mafia boss, you tried to be more prepared and composed.

"Hi Erwin." You smiled up at his sparkling blue eyes as you opened the door and stepped beside him. He looked down at you sadly and avoided your happy gaze. He couldn't bare the thought of telling you the bad news and seeing your eyes go from cheerful to downcast.

"Erwin?"

"I hate to say it but...y-you have to go."
