Dallia chuckled as she glanced across the table, a hand delicately flying to her mouth to stop her laugh from being heard.

From across the long table, prince Hyungseo was making facial expressions which only highlighted how unbearable this meeting was.

However, they always were, but this one the princess was mildly interested in.

"Then what do you suggest we should do?" Her father spoke to the family which sat alongside them, the Lee's.

"We shall have to divert our route," the mother spoke, as Dallia nodded politely in agreement. "It is too dangerous to travel through the village, for both your family and mine."

The King turned his head upon hearing his retinue scoff. "What is the matter?"

"Their priority should be your family, your majesty," the man spoke, Dallia glaring from across the room. "Not themselves. They knew how dangerous this job sh-"

The meeting was interrupted as the door opened, Hyunjae bowing as he fixed his shirt. "Sorry I'm late, the door to the carriage was jammed."

"I will have that fixed for you," the king spoke, motioning for the boy to sit between his mother and father. "Please sit, we were just discussing the new route."

"I see," he nodded, walking towards the seat as Dallia watched him intently.

His hair was a mess on his head, and although he tried to fix it out of the fear of looking unprofessional, he strangely did not. The princess thought it was cute.

"As I was saying," the retinue continued. "The priority of the Lee family should be your safety."

"Not more so than their own," Dallia spoke, a rage knotting in her stomach. "Their lives are not of less value than ours, or yours."

"You are royalty," he argued back, the king eyeing his daughter from across the table. "And they are not."

"They are human," she said, raising her voice as the family bowed their heads. "And so are we, so rid yourself of such prejudice."

"Enough, Dallia," her father finally spoke, his voice was stern and it was enough to scare everyone else at the table, apart from her.

Hyunjae glanced over, watching as the girl retained her composure, unbothered of her fathers exclamation. He almost smiled to himself that the princess was unlike any of her family.

"When I sit in your chair, father," she continued, eyeing the man who sat beside him with a sour look upon his face. "He will be here no longer, know that for certain."

The king sighed, simply ignoring his daughters words, he knew when he was gone, she would rule things differently. He would not be here to stop her.

The princess stayed silent for the rest of the meeting, sparing an occasional glance at Hyunjae who kept his head low during the whole conversation.
