It had been weeks since the princes proposal, and barely a soul had heard from the princess.

She insisted on eating her food in the quiet of her bedroom, refusing to go out not wanting to sneak out as much as she usually did.

There were times where she looked out of the window wishing to be where the people were, but she couldn't bring herself to do anything but sit and sulk in her bed.

Hyunjae was worried at first, but as he clocked the girl sitting upon her windowsill as she watched him intently, he knew she was somewhat okay. She was still searching for him, that was all that mattered.

"Why don't you ask your son?" The words of Mrs Lee rang throughout the house, snapping the young boy from his thoughts.

"What would that be?" Hyunjae asked, turning to face the two.

"You've done no house work for weeks," his mother complained. "What has gotten into you lately?"

The boy blinked a few times, watching as his father looked at him softly. More often than not, it seemed as though his mother was the man of the house. "Nothing. I'll do whatever you're asking of me."

"Good," he heard his mother as he walked away, biting his tongue from saying any more. "Start with the washing."

He obeyed as usual, walking outside towards the wringer as he looked towards the castle.

He wondered what she was doing to keep herself occupied. Did she think of him the way he thought of her? Was she as lost without him as he was without her?

Wondering was no use, he knew he would need to act soon. He missed her more than he once anticipated that he would, and he felt stupid for letting himself fall into such a trap - to fall for her.

"Won't you tell your old man what's on your mind?" His fathers voice spoke softly as he approached the boy, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Hyunjae sighed, not wishing to inform his father of all people about his feelings. "It's nothing."

"Your mother told me about your little fancy," he chuckled, the younger's eyes widening as he faced him. "It's alright. Royalty is beauty, it's plain to see."

"It isn't just that," Hyunjae sighed again, shaking his head as he looked towards the wringer. "There's more to her than that, father."

"She is much like her mother," the man smiled to himself. "That too is plain to see."

"She is?" The boy asked, watching as his father nodded contently, his lips tugging upwards. "You knew the queen well?"

"Very well," he replied, pursing his lips. "Keep that between you and I, though."

Hyunjae nodded slowly, watching as his father began to walk away. The younger's face filled with confusion, before realisation hit.

His father put his finger to his mouth, shushing the boy before he opened the door, leaving his son to chuckle.
