Dallia laid motionless upon the grass, her chest barely rising nor falling as she struggled to take in the sight before her.

When her lips ever so slightly parted, a simple breath escaping, his finger placed itself gently upon her lips.

It was then she knew that this was real. "I will wait in the woods."

With that, the boy reluctantly let go of her hand, crouching as he ran towards the trees as she simply watched him in disbelief.

"Princess?" She heard her name called from not far away.

"Yes?" She managed to speak much to her own surprise.

"Your father is wondering where you are," the guard called, the light of a candle glaring from the bushes upon the hill. "It is getting late, after all."

Dallia froze. It had been a while since she had to lie properly, especially about him. "Alright. Ten more minutes, please?"

Who was the guard to deny her that? The man simply walked away, making everything easier for the girl. She waited until his faint footsteps became entirely distant, then gone. That was when she plucked up the courage to rise to her feet.

Her legs shook, her eyes narrowing at the darkness of the woodland before her.

She knew if she walked, he would find her, but she found that difficult right now. "It is real, Dallia."

Telling herself those words didn't make it much easier, but her feet carried her to where he might be.

It didn't take long for the hand to grab hers gently, the familiar touch pulling her close to his chest.

It was then that the tears began to fall, but Hyunjae only held her closer. "Shhh, princess. I'm here."

"I know," Dallia chuckled in between her tears, placing her hands firmly upon his chest. "How?"

"Magic..." the boy joked, his fingers patting lightly against her back as it sent shivers up her spine.

"Shhh," the girl shook her head, lifting it from his chest as she looked between his eyes, laughing lightly. "Don't make me believe you're not actually here. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me."

Hyunjae smiled gently, placing her head in his hands. "I missed you so much."

"You have no idea," the princess stifled a cry. "How did you get here?"

"My horse is in the village," he breathed out, his fingers instinctively reaching to run through her hair. In just a month, he noticed how it had gotten much longer. "Needn't worry about that. Are you alright?"

No, she wasn't. Up until this moment, her eyes were dim and so was her spirit.

She didn't feel like there was much to live for, but the very hope of seeing the face of the man she loved most kept her pushing through those dark days.
