Zarah..
"I was taken aback, too shocked to even react. 'Abdul,' I called out, my voice trembling.Babe,' he replied, his gaze fixed on his phone.
Are you serious?' I asked, incredulous. '
I'm always serious,' he exclaim , his tone unwavering.
'And you brought me here just to...
meet her?' he continued, his words trailing off.
"'Why are you being so mean and rude these days?' I asked, my frustration boiling over. Abdul An taba ma hauka kuwa He looked at me for a moment, then took a few minutes to process what I have said.
No one has ever tried it before, unless you will try,' he said finally. 'And please, don't do anything stupid when she comes out.'
"You told me to stay calm, Abdul? You're talking about calm after everything you've done? let her come out and I'll show you just how stupid I can be."
"Okay," he replied curtly.
"Okay, really, Abdul? I can't believe you!" I huffed, irritated. "If you're tired of me, just let me go, for goodness' sake! I continued shouting at him, but he just pulled out his headphones to block out my voice.
Abdul calmly put on his headphones and started listening to music, effectively shutting me out. The audacity! I glared at him, my anger and frustration reaching new heights.
"Are you kidding me?!" I shouted, trying to get through to him, but he just sat there, eyes fixed on the house, completely ignoring me.
I threw up my hands in exasperation. "Fine! Have it your way! But this isn't over, Abdul!" So, we waited for the queen of cuteness to come out. After a few minutes, she emerged, dressed in a maroon abaya. When I say she's beautiful, I mean it - she's dead gorgeous, a magnificent beauty that I think has captivated him. Her beauty is definitely what attracts him.
"Beauty doesn't attract me; in fact, I don't usually fall in love with a face, I fall for a heart," he said, before I realized how loudly I have said it.
You expect me to believe that you fell for her heart? Please."
"Believe what you want, Zarah. But I'm telling you the truth."
I didn't reply, instead turning my head towards the window as she walked towards the car. Abdul removed his headphones and got out to talk to her for a few minutes before she opened the back door and slid in.
He started driving, and the car ride is silent, with no indication of where we we're heading . He eventually parked in front of the Luxor Salon. She climbed out of the car and waited patiently, seemingly for him. Abdul turned towards me, a charming smile spreading across his face. "These daggers you're shooting me with your eyes are killing me already," he muttered as he unbuckled my seatbelt.
"Your hair needs to be washed too," he said, as I tried to open the car door, but he locked it immediately.
"What's all this about?" he questioned, noticing my frustration.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance before sparing him a glare. "At least smile, please, babe. I don't like this face," he said, intertwining our hands. "Don't you trust me?"
I glared at him, Trust you? Are you kidding me? You've brought me to...this...without even explaining what's going on. And now you're expecting me to smile and go along with it?" I pulled my hand away from his, trying to create some distance between us.
Come on, babe. Just trust me, okay? He leaned in closer, his voice taking on a persuasive tone. I'll explain everything."
I opened my mouth to reply, but he quickly leaned in and started kissing me. After a while, he broke away, looked at me, and winked, handing me his debit card. He unlocked the door, and I climbed out.
