"Yana, let me handle this," Luka saw Yana tightly grabbing the fork and a dangerous glint sweeping past her eyes, "No need, I'll take care of it."

"Miss Yana?" the host repeatedly asked for her presence.

"No, it's fine," Yana stood up and in an instant, all eyes fell on my own."

Mik and his girlfriend gave Yana ridiculing smiles while the older couple next to Bao were mockingly staring at her.

Yana grabbed her purse and elegantly walked towards the stage. As she left the table, her eyes met with the smiling man who held his thumbs up.

Table after table, all eyes followed every step of Yana but she just continued to smile and be as charming as possible. They were all amused. Once the host has said she was Luka's partner for the banquet, they all knew immediately that she was the clown from earlier. Yet Yana didn't care about the ridiculing atmosphere, obviously wanting to condemn her.

Yana strode towards the stage until she stood next to the host. Basking in the light, with the screen behind her showing her appearance, gasps could be heard here and there.

The hall was shocked. No one has anticipated Yana to be such a beauty with an air of elegance and aloofness. But this momentarily surprise only lasted for a few seconds before whispers reached Yana's ears.

"Guess she only managed to get to his position through her looks."

"I bet she climbed into the CEO's bed."

Yes, they'd always make up rumours like this. They couldn't accept someone lower than them to achieve what they were born into, because, after all, they were two different classes.

The host, having Yana stand next to him, took a while to recover. He cleared his throat, "Miss Yana please," then handed her the microphone.

Since the cameras were all on her, Yana continued to smile, "Thank you for providing me with such a great opportunity. I feel a bit selfish taking all the glory to myself. I'm not the only project manager on this project. I feel like I'm doing a great misdeed by withholding such valuable members of the team. If you don't mind, I hope that I can have them here accompany me for such a great moment."

The crowd sneered at Yana's words. Great moment?

What a joke. You're just a laughing stock. But Yana also sneered at them. They wanted her to be the lamb that was slaughtered, why not make it four and drag the other companies with her?

"I'd like to have Mr K from the LXL company, Mr S from Nixo and Mr M from Tyn here with me. They're all involved in this project. It's not good to not give them any face since it's the first joint project between M.M and other companies. They must feel wronged to not be called out for such an achievement."

Slap. Yana just slapped everyone responsible for this segment in their faces. This was a joint project between M.M and other companies. How could the host and the ones in charge not know of such a fact and disgrace the other three companies? How could the other three companies just take this lying down? Their pride was at stake!

But everyone knew this was just a farce and couldn't take Yana's words seriously.

But she already called them out by mentioning their companies, not appearing now was the same as disrespecting M.M and saying that the three great companies LXL, Nixo and Tyn were much inferior to the point of a mere host not even bother mentioning them.

"The LXL, Nyx and Tyn companies shouldn't be so shy to send their representative onto the stage," Yana's eye smile was dazzling, "Oh I know. Is it because I'm just a common person, so you don't want to be associated with me? I see... My bad," Yana's voice turned sad.

Mr K was angry as his table all stared at him. Damn, Yana really wanted to give them no face! Even dragging their company's name into this! Did she have a death wish?

But Mr K held his neck. It was he who had experienced too closely, Yana's viciousness. He could still feel the tie around his neck tightening. He was sure to pay her back. Let's see how arrogant and unbothered she could stay.

"Mr K, it's best to go," Mr S rubbed his hands and whispered to Mr K. This sleazy bastard. Mr M behind Mr S nodded and so the three, under everyone's stares walked up to the stage.

"I'm so thankful that you don't mind standing next to such a lowly person like me," Yana's smile grew more and more infuriating in those three's eyes.

Right now, even the managers knew that her words were mocking and everyone could see that these three males paled next to Yana.

If anything, Yana seemed to be a high person while Mr K, S and M seemed more like mere servants. Taking advantage of the fact, Yana approached Mr K slightly and then stared at his neck!

Mr K instantly flinched and grabbed the microphone the staff held out to the three managers.

"It's nothing, Miss Yana, if anything, we're glad you mentioned us," Mr S started, "Although we didn't do too much. After all," Mr S' smirk widened, "You don't give us any chance to participate in a project because after all, you take charge of it which is wonderful! Of course, newcomers should experience how it is to be in control. Us veterans gladly step back to teach you."

'Nice job' Mr K grinned triumphantly seeing how Mr S twisted his words back at Yana. Mr M just stood there and nodded solemnly. Yana rolled her eyes inwards. If she didn't already anticipate them fighting back, she wouldn't have told them to come on stage in the first place, just to have them humiliate her.

"Oh, but we've been through this so many times. It was the CEO's decisions and as you signed the contract you surely were aware of the fact that I'm in charge. After all, Mr S, even veterans like you should learn from capable people. The CEO would never put someone in charge who isn't competent. Are you saying the CEO made a mistake, or your CEOs made a mistake by sending incompetent veterans to a project?"

This woman! All three of them glared at Yana whose smile was as sweet as honey. No matter what she said, she just threw those bigshots into her sentences and put them on the spot. Of course, they couldn't say their CEOs made a mistake!

The even worse thing was that her words from the point of view of others perfectly made sense!

This damn bitch! Mr K grit his teeth. Just you wait! Just you wait!
