Hateful adonis

The laughter of the guys was drowned out by the rustles in Yana's ears. She couldn't believe what Luka said.

Why would he say these hurtful things? Didn't they get closer? Weren't they friends now?

"I didn't hear you clearly," Yana raised her head to look Luka in the eyes. Her trembling fingers balled into fists.

"I said, don't annoy me anymore. Leave me alone, I've put up with you for long enough."

The surrounding people who heard this all started to gossip. They thought that Luka and Yana got along well but in the end, she was just an eyesore and so rumours flew around trashing Yana left and right. People were so easy to jump to conclusions.

"Haha!" the guys laughed and pulled Luka into class with them. Yana knew she was clingy and too pushy but hearing it from Luka still hurt.

How could he say that so easily? Without remorse? Emotions or regrets? In the end, was she the only one who cared about their friendship?

Was he acting like this because of his friends? Yana didn't want to know anyway. Luka said she was annoying, he didn't want her to be around him anymore, so fine.

She wasn't going to annoy him from now on. He wanted her to leave him alone, so she would do that.

Turning on the spot, Yana walked away from Luka. Away from all the rumours and away from the suffocating feeling that stomped her heart into the gutters.

Yana walked back to her own lecture hall and slumped onto the seat. Unfortunately, Mia didn't have the class with her.

Yana didn't want to go and meet up later with Luka. He might've only said it and not really meant it but for some reason, a reality check rained on Yana and she didn't want to see Luka, for a while at least. Until he apologised or clarified his meaning.

Also, it'd be best to finish the research project as soon as possible. Later the day, she was supposed to go over it with Luka but she couldn't face his stupid evil face. What should she do? It'd be awkward to hang out with him normally.

Well to be fair, she was indeed very annoying, she knew that herself, but she thought that Luka maybe liked that about her. After all, Mia and the others didn't have a problem with it.

The rest of the day passed by slowly, nagging worries were eating away at Yana until she grabbed an innocent passerby.

The first-year student was immersed in his phone and scowled, "What do you want?" but the second she saw Yana, his drool threatened to leak out his mouth, "I-I mean, how can I help you?"

Yana gave him a dazzling smile and threw her hair back. The light breeze that appeared just at the moment she flung her hair naturally enhanced the fake 'goddess' vibe she was exuding.

The student's eyes almost popped out, no matter how much he stared he couldn't get enough, "My goddess..." he added in a whisper and Yana knew she caught him in her trap.

"I'd like you to help me."

"H-How?" the student was perplexed how, out of all people, he would be the one receiving the honours, "Was I chosen?"

"Of course, only you can do it!" Yana's bright eyes sucked him in believing the lie to be the truth.

"Please! I'll do anything," the student was almost about to kneel when Yana hastily stopped him. Yana knew what effect she had on people, especially strangers who didn't know her and only judged her by her appearance but this guy was an extreme case.

Of course, there were also people who were unfazed by Yana's looks and Yana didn't mind. The only thing she liked about her appearance was that no matter how much she ate, she barely gained any weight.

Something that a lot would probably kill for and something that might kill Yana, the glutton, one day.

"Thank you," Yana gave him another vibrant smile and the student seemed to faint from the ecstasy. Yep, this one right here was a really bad case. Maybe she chose the wrong one.

"I need you to pass on a message for me, the person is waiting in the libary's study room 1, can you give it to him?" Yana handed the student a piece of paper. She could just text Luka but then she would have to see his reply and actively engage with him, and she didn't want that.

"No worries! You can count on me, m-my goddess," with that, the student raced away.

Yana sighed and headed home. Avoiding Luka this was way was probably not the right one but she didn't care.

Good thing today was Friday which meant it was the weekend already. Yana hoped Luka wouldn't appear at work. When he said that they would continue working on the research project during her lunch break, he really meant it.

In the end, Yana had to beg her manager to throw Luka out. Finally, Luka complied to spare her at least during the weekends.

That was when Yana realised Luka was even clinger than her until...now.

Meanwhile, the student raced with a full heart to the library. Once he entered the study room, his heart sank. Looking at that... hateful adonis, it was obvious that he had no chance against him.

His goddess would obviously choose that... hateful adonis over there.

"What are you doing here?'' the adonis raised her eyebrow and as soon as the student handed him the message and adonis read it the room turned several degrees colder.

This was not what the poor student signed up for!
