Rejection

"Let me ask you something," Yana's eyes curved as she looked at all three managers. She nonchalantly brushed her hair into a ponytail and adjusted her shirt. To the managers, it felt like she wasn't even holding them in her eyes, instead, it seemed like they were pure time-wasting small fries she could stomp onto and flush down the toilet.

"Do you think the orphanage is a joke?" Yana has listened to all three proposals.

Nixo's plan was to create a resort akin to something like Disneyland and where should the poor orphans live? In one of the houses inside the resort. It might sound great but in truth, it was just nice words for being dumped anywhere where space was.

LXL wanted a water resort as the mountains built the perfect place for hot springs while Tyn wanted to create a whole housing area. It didn't sound bad, it was only the fact that their ambition was to have rich people reside there. Of course, the way it was worded seemed favourable for the children.

Yana now knew why Luka put her completely in charge and gave her free reign to do what she wanted. It was because he saw it coming that the three companies would take the chance to turn that unused land to their advantage. Of course, all their proposals were well-researched but Yana could only understand the basics, however, she didn't need more to figure out their intentions.

Also, of course, the land where the orphanage was didn't belong to anyone so Yana had no right to deny their interest in it but since M.M was the stakeholder and the leading company in this project, Yana could exert her right over the land.

"Miss Yana, we have the orphanage in our minds and hearts. It's our top priority! We're proposing this precisely because it would be better for the kids," Mr M's fake smile was nauseating.

"Oh, really?" Yana feigned surprise, "Well, I've heard all of your proposals and-" Yana drew a short pause, taking in all the anticipating gazes before completely crushing them, "I reject them all. The orphanage will be remodelled according to the orphanage wishes."

"Of course," Mr K quickly said, "But the surrounding land-"

"I'll obviously decide what will happen to it," Yana smiled amicable.

"Miss Yana-" Mr K started losing patience seeing that Yana really meant it, "You cannot disregard all of our opinions."

"Oh? Didn't you hear? I'm in charge which means I don't have to listen to your nonsense. If you have something worthwhile to say then maybe your opinions might matter. On top of that," Yana pushed the proposals back to the managers, "It's just us three right? So, I don't need to give you any face."

Now, Mr K was angry. He was a senior manager at his company. Respected and with many years of experience under his belt. This wet girl behind her ears had no idea how much competition he had to crush to get to this position and work at a project held by the M.M company.

Mr K was a middle-aged man in his mid 40s, his bald head was littered with veins while his moustache wriggled with each word he spit. The suit he wore made his chubby appearance only more ridiculous.

"You're going too far now! You can't discard all of us-"

"Mr K, that's not what I'm doing. Obviously, once the orphanage has settled on a plan, we will consult you, so you can throw your opinions in the mix. Although I'm not sure if that'd help."

Yana's best bet was to make these three pull out of the project so she didn't have to deal with them, but unfortunately for these three, too much was lying on it for them to just give up this project.

The actual truth was that the companies behind the three managers had made a deal. If any of their proposals went through, they'd work together for the real goal to use M.M company as their financial leader. But right now a puny girl was standing in their way.

When Mr K made a background check on those who worked at M.M he never came across this woman. How the hell and where the hell did she pop up from?

Mr K looked at Mr M and Mr S for help. Mr S was a slender man in his 30s, he had a neat look and was neither ugly nor good-looking. He was a person that could be described as an ass-kisser or sleazy, "Miss Yana, it's also in the best interest of M.M. to utilise the land around the orphanage. If M.M. doesn't then it's also beneficial to leave it to us."

"Well, that's too bad. As I said, I decided what happens to the land," Yana had a headache dealing with them.

If it wasn't for the fact that Luka gave her the full authority, she couldn't be able to withstand all the pressure. Was it even legal, possible for Luka to do something like this?

Even if M.M was a top company, infuriating three big companies even M.M couldn't escape unscathed, right? But Yana didn't care, she was neither affiliated with M.M nor would care what happened to Luka or his company. If he gave her all the rights, then she'd make full use of it.

"The land doesn't belong to you," Mr M spoke up.

He was the oldest judging by his appearance around 50. His black hair started to turn white but it only aided his imposing figure.

"But it does," Yana smiled and watched their expression turned, "The whole land and the mountains around the orphanage has been bought by M.M."

Silence hammered down like lightening on the managers. Before-

"No way!" Mr K was the first to recover, "That's a lie!"

It was.

"It isn't, you can ask my boss. He has already taken all the precautions."

"Hah, you brat think you're so sly huh?" Mr K finally showed his true colours, "I bet you're just a bitch in heat. Climbing up your way up to the CEO's bed and securing a spot on a project, isn't it so?"

Yana watched unimpressed as Mr K stood up and approached her. Mr S tried to calm Mr K down while Mr M just watched.

This smelled like trouble.

"Mr K, I'm pretty sure working at LXL should've taught you some manners. Instead, I think a lowly worker faked his way here."

Yana's words only made it worse as Mr K grabbed her by the hair and jolted her forwards, "Listen here. You'll do as we say. How much does the CEO pay you? As long as you do what we say and keep quiet, you'll remain unharmed."

Yana looked into his bloodshot eyes. She didn't anticipate his ego to be this big. Acting all friendly and nice at the beginning, he was actually such a bastard.

And this bastard was hurting her.
