(Chloe Lavesta shown below, Species: Caracal Furry. Age- 6 years old.)
Marx: (groans) "What happened?"
Maureen: "How did we... oh my goodness? What have we done?"
Chloe: "What happened Mommy?"
Maureen: "Nothing, sweetheart. We're okay."
Marx: "Let's ask them. Maybe they know why we and several others are a bit confused now."
Maureen: "Excuse me Charles, but what happened? Me and my husband were out shopping with our daughter and we just blanked out for who knows how long."
Charles Hoggleton: "I was hidden in the store most of the time, but the store owner told me that a bunch of teenagers were fighting some kind of demon something or other."
Marx: "That must be it. It must have hurt controlled anyone it touched."
Maureen: "Well... we're not mind controlled anymore. So who do we have to thank for this?"
Chloe: "Mommy... Daddy! Look!"
Maureen: "What is it sweetheart?"
Chloe: "There!"
Marx: "Hmm?"
They look at the news WWFN chopper about to land.
Jimmy: "Okay, here I come! Geoffrey, is the camera in position?"
Geoffrey: "Yes sir, Mr. Findello. We are about to go live in a three... a two... a one... and... now!"
Jimmy: "Good evening and this is Jimmy Findello with your after news bulletin. Strange occurrences have been happening after individuals have vandalized several local businesses across Downtown and Midtown. But who knows why they did it? Let's find out."
He interviews some of the local residents and witnesses of the event and get multiple statements.
Marx: "Me and family here regained our will after the whole thing, but all I can remember seeing some teenagers celebrating about beating some sort of demonic spirit. Then they just left."
Jimmy: "Interesting... thank you good sir. And there you have it folks several victims and witnesses to horrific spiritual event. We'll be back right after we go to commercial."
Jimmy: "Geoffrey, we need to find out who is responsible for stopping this new threat."
Geoffrey: "What do you want to say in the headline, sir?"
Jimmy: "Let's call it, 'Unknown Teenage Team Stops New Spiritual Threat!' It'll add some mystery once the holo-papers are released to the public."
Geoffrey: "Hmm... sounds brilliant sir."
Jimmy: "Heheh, I know. Now let's head back to the station. Stollens is paying for lunches this time."
The news crew leaves and the crowd on the border of Midtown and Uptown disperses back to their usual business. All except for the Lavesta family. An idea pops within Marx's head.
Marx: "I have an idea."
Maureen: "What's that dear?"
Marx: "I say we find Chloe a better babysitter and possibly a new friend."
Chloe: "I don't need a babysitter. I'm almost eight, Daddy."
Marx: "You're not old enough to stay in the house by yourself young lady. We're going to find you someone who can watch over you until me and your mom return from our business trip."
Chloe: "What? Mom!"
Maureen: "Your father's right sweetie. You've been getting too comfortable just staying home the whole time."
Chloe: "It's my comfort zone."
Maureen: "You'll be fine. It's just a couple of days until we come back."
Chloe: (pouts) "Okay... where I am I staying?"
Marx: "Hmm... I think I may know the perfect place for you to stay."
Maureen: "Where, hun?"
Marx: "The home of this region's most famous hero."
Maureen: "You mean...?"
Marx: "Yes. That place."
Meanwhile, at Eastside Secondary School, Sherman and his friends are still comforting Victoria after her traumatic experience with the demonic Desirée.
Victoria: "I still can't believe I trusted her..."
I... I... don't even deserve forgiveness..."
Sherman: "Victoria? Victoria? Turn off the waterworks and look at me."
Victoria sniffles twice.
Sherman: "We're not going to punish you. That's for the Vitaea to decide."
Aubrey: "Yeah, V. You made a mistake. But you can change and join our squad and help us. We can all fight against the oppression of criminals together."
Victoria: "You think I'd be a good hero? Even after everything I tried to do?"
Aubrey: "Any innocent souls can be given a second chance."
Victoria: (sniffles)
Ruth: "Come on, sis. Lunch time is nearly over and we all need to get back inside."
Jackson Junior: "No kidding. The assistant principal is over there."
Zaino: "Oh please, he's imbibing again. He's not going not notice us walking through the old gym's doorways."
Yuki: "Oh, yeah! Hehe, the secret way out after school."
Yuki looks at Zaino with a smirk as she holds onto his arm.
Elsie: "Right. Let's go."
In Elsie's Mind: "Why does Yuki always have to be sniffing around my Zaino like that? Wait... why did I say my Zaino? Do I have a thing for him? Stop it! He's your best friend!"
Zaino: "Elsie? You good?"
Elsie: "Huh? Oh... yeah... yes, I'm good."
In Elsie's Mind: "No you're not! You are feeling something! But... Gaah! Maybe I do feel for him! I am so confused."
......In the late afternoon......
The Lavesta family drives to Uptown where Maureen's sister, Versaia lives.
Maureen: "Are you sure our baby girl is going to be safe here?"
Marx: "I'm telling you, she'll be fine."
Chloe: "I'm not a baby. And I don't need anyone to watch over me."
Maureen: "Not now sweetie. The grownups are talking."
Chloe poutingly crosses her arms as her parents ring the doorbell.
Versaia: (gasps) "Sister!"
Maureen: "Hey, Versaia!"
They hug it out.
Versaia: "How's it going, Marx?"
Maureen: "It's going great, Versaia. Do you and Ethan mind watching Chloe for us while we're away?"
Versaia: "Of course! It's always fun having my favorite niece here."
She pats Chloe's head slightly.
Chloe: "Hi, Aunt Versaia. Can Uncle Ethan play a game with me today?"
Versaia: "Oh, I'm afraid not sweetheart. He's feeling a bit under the weather today."
Chloe: "What happened?"
Versaia: "Your uncle got himself sick after eating some bad spicy chicken from Sao Min Wang's. He'll be okay after one more night of bed rest and bicarbonate soda."
Chloe: "Okay. Can I stay in my living room again? I like the night light."
Versaia: "Sure sweetie. Um... but first say goodbye to your parents and I'll whip up my ultimate chicken noodle soup. It will warm you up. Especially seeing how cold it gets in there."
Chloe: "Yay! Bye, Momma! Bye, Daddy! Have a good trip!"
Maureen: "Bye, Chloe. We love you!"
Marx starts the engine and drives off to their private getaway location.
Chloe: "So... you have two extra blankets right?"
Versaia: "Can you handle one for tonight, kiddo? Your uncle has the others upstairs."
Chloe: "Okay. Yeah. I pray that Uncle Ethan gets better."
Versaia: "Thank you, sweetie."
Ethan: "Versaia! I'm feeling some... ugh! Some more pain!"
Versaia: "Coming, darling! Stay here and I'll be right down, Chloe."
Chloe: "Okay, Auntie."
She looks around the kitchen, sits down, grabs the remote, and sees some of 'Guess That Term' at first.
Chloe: "Hmm... it's great, but the OneMark channel? I can't miss Lady Bradshaw finding her long lost sons. Oh yay! It's just started!"
As Chloe watches the television show, Versaia gives Ethan some comfort in their bedroom.
Versaia: "Easy hun. Don't strain yourself."
Ethan: "Versaia, I was looking to... ya know. Going with you to that conference thing for your job."
Versaia: "It's the annual conference for when the Board of Directors makes their opening announcements and my boss hands out awards and gives promotions to long standing employees. I've told you this before."
Ethan: "Baby, I told ya. My other ear was trying to focus on last night's game."
Versaia: "Can you at least show a little more interest in my job?"
Ethan: (groans) "Fine. Here's a question. Who's getting a promotion?"
Versaia: "Guess."
Ethan: "You and you're annoying friend Betty?"
Versaia: "No. Just me."
Ethan: (coughs) "Congrats, Beautiful! Make sure you save some moves for me before coming back. I like watching you move and go."
Versaia: "I will try my absolute hardest, Commodore."
Ethan: "Heheh."
Ethan and Versaia share a quick kiss.
Ethan: "I think my stomach bug just lightened a bit despite the original pain."
Versaia: "Nice try. You stay in bed, okay. I'll be back before you know it. I love you."
Ethan: "Yeah, love you too, babe. And knock-'em dead."
Versaia smirks humorously as she grabs her car keys, turns off the electric stove, and pours two bowls of hot soup for her husband and niece.
Versaia: "Okay, make you don't answer the door to strangers. I'll be back by eleven-thirty, alright?"
Chloe: "Got it. See ya later, Auntie Versaia. Ahh, time to relax."
Ethan: "Chloe! Can you bring up the soup?!"
Chloe: "Coming, Uncle!"
She brings it up to him carefully and places it on the dresser next to his bed.
Ethan: "Thank you."
Chloe: "You're welcome."
Ethan: "Anyways... make yourself comfortable. I'll take a nap and eat after the soup cools a bit."
Chloe: "Okay. Nighty-night, Uncle Ethan."
She goes back down to their tv room.
Chloe: (sighs) "I wish I had at least... one friend. What else is on?"
She turns on the television and watches the film, 'The Wild Dogs: Saviors of the World."
You know what... I'm going to try and make a new friend. I'm so tired of being alone. I don't care what those other girls at school say.
Chloe: "If Captain Rawls can make allies. I can too."
Hopeful wishing rises within the young furry girl and she continues watching as the night rolls on.
