The Big Heists II

......In the next scene......
Chloe: (sighs) "So bored."
Desmond: "Yeah, no one has shown up yet."
Chloe: "Can we just take a nap?"
Desmond: "Nah, Sherman said to keep a lookout for the infamous duo. Besides, don't worry... the others will be back with the rest of our team and the others who were kidnapped."
Chloe: "Has he... uhm... ever failed a mission?"
Desmond: "No, and neither has my dad. He thinks that Sherman is responsible enough to lead so I trust him."
Chloe: "At least your dad sticks around and comes back. My folks aren't even around as much."
Desmond: "Why is that?"
Chloe: "Business trips, apparently. That's all they tell me."
Desmond: "I am sure they don't leave you on purpose."
Chloe: "I want to believe that, but it just seems they do."
The girl caracal looks outside at the stars.
Desmond: "You miss them, huh?"
Chloe: (sighs) "Yeah..."
Desmond: "Well... I wouldn't leave you."
Chloe: "Are you sure about that?"
Desmond: "Yeah, I mean... you're a friend. And true friends never leave each other, no matter what."
In Chloe's Mind: "His words seem sincere. But everything in my soul is telling me to trust him. I wonder I could..."
Chloe: "Desmond?"
Desmond: "Yeah?"
Chloe: "I think I need a hug."
Desmond: "Uhm... I uh... okay..."
Chloe inches towards him and lays her head on Desmond's right shoulder.
Desmond breaks the awkwardness and cautiously hugs her; not knowing how she will react next. Then Chloe instinctively nuzzles her head close to Desmond's.
In Desmond's Mind: "I've never seen her this scared before. Hmm... perhaps I should relax with her for a bit. What?! No, no, no! The Crisis Brood needs us to keep watch for any signs of danger. Worry about Chloe's issues, later. Focus on the now."
Suddenly Desmond's ears twitch and turn slightly.
Desmond: "Uhm... Chloe?"
Chloe: "Yeah?"
Desmond: "Turn on your taser."
Chloe: "What? Why?"
Desmond: "We got company. And definitely not the good kind. Get down, now."
Chloe: "But I was getting comfortable with you. I..."
Desmond places his one of paw digits on Chloe's mouth. As he peeks through the window, an E-Rac-4x4 truck stops and medium sized cat furries with assault rifles jump out of the car.
Desmond: "Oh, no..."
Chloe: "Who is it?"
Desmond: "It's the Sovolchi Twins. The infamous ocelot duo who are wanted from all over the world. My dad talked about going after them, but my mom told him not to."
Chloe: "Can your dad help us?"
Desmond: "Even if I did call him, he would never make it here in time. And Sherman and the others aren't back yet. We'll have to deal them ourselves."
Chloe: "How? We're the smallest of in the team. And you are the only with powers and I don't. What can we do?"
Desmond looks around and notices one of twins rewrapping an old injury.
Desmond: "Hmm... you'd be surprised."
Chloe: "What is it?"
Desmond: "Yes, look at the wound on his thigh."
Chloe: "What can I do?"
Desmond: "You can taze him there and he'll drop to the ground. I'll take down the other the Solvochi twin."
Chloe peeks above the seat and shivers slightly.
Chloe: "I can't do it. I don't think I can hurt someone like this..."
Desmond: "Hey... you can... we are about to take on two of the worst criminals around. You need to lose your fear."
Chloe: "How are you not afraid? What if something horrible happens? What if...?"
Desmond: "Shh! No time for chatting! Stay still!"
He whispers in a low tone of voice to avoid drawing the attention of the Solvochi Twins searching around Sherman's car.
Sovolchi Twin 1: "Where is Kaltezo and Winova? They said they would be here before us?"
Solvochi Twin 2: "No, we are supposed to go to the their campsite and keep an eye on those school kids they 'acquired' from the school."
The two ocelot adults snicker and laugh as the murderous duo start walking to the wooded area.
Desmond: "Okay. Now!" (whispers)
Desmond and Chloe leave the vehicle they lay low at, and sneak carefully after the Sovolchi Twins.
Desmond: "There is the injured one over there. Go and zap his leg. I got this one."
Desmond throws a rock in a far direction, causing both of the twins to investigate the sound and uses his spirit power to make a tree's undergrowth rise and it trips the feline crooks to grassy ground. Chloe follows and electrocutes both of them.
Desmond: "See? Good teamwork."
Chloe: "I did it. I can't believe it."
Chloe shows a small smile.
Desmond: "You did great, Chloe. Let's take their firearms and hide them just in case."
Chloe: "Desmond?"
Desmond: "Yeah?"
Chloe: "Thank you."
Desmond: "For what?"
Chloe: "For believing in me. That I have potential."
Desmond: "I know we have only been friends for a short time, but I think that..."
Chloe: "Desmond..."
Chloe hugs him and tells him that to promise her to never leave her behind.
Chloe: "Do you swear?"
Desmond: "Yeah, I swear. I got your back."
The young duo don't realize that the Crisis Brood and the abductees are planning to ambush Kaltezo and Winova.
Sherman: "Hah!" Huh? Desmond?"
Desmond: "Hey Sherman. Funny seeing you all still out here."
Chloe: "We came to tell you that the Sovolchi Twins are no longer going to hurt us."
Sherman: "Why is that?"
Desmond: "We caught them for you and the team. You're welcome."
Desmond and Chloe high-five each other, and lead them to the unconscious killers.
Sherman: "Wow... I'm impressed. Maybe you are ready for field work. Don't ever tell our mom about that. I'll just deny it."
Desmond: "Not a problem, big bro!"
Aubrey: "Great job, Desmond." 
She pats his head cheerfully as the others walk back to their makeshift convey of personalized vehicles.
The coast was clear and was safe enough for them to leave. Or so they thought...
For another stripped vehicle was approaching their convey and out that vehicle was none other than Kaltezo and his partner in crime, Winova.
Kaltezo: "Something smells off."
He sniffs the air and his ears twitch and turn.
Winova: "How so?"
Kaltezo: "Look around. The Sovolchi Twins are still not here."
Winova: "Not quite, look! A piece of leather from one of their boots. Which means they can't be too far."
Kaltezo: "We can sniff them out easily, baby."
He inhales the air around him and catches the scent of the Sovolchi Twins. They both walk for a few minutes and notice their two associates out cold.
Kaltezo: "What the heck?!? They've been taken down."
Winova feels for a pulse on one of the twins and notices that they are still breathing.
Winova: "Well, at least they're still breathing."
Kaltezo: "And not only that... our meat is gone! Where are those kids?"
He tries to sniff them out and catches the Yuki's scent.
Kaltezo: "There! They are this way!"
Winova: "Heheh!"
Winova pulls out her knives.
Kaltezo: "Listen Crisis Brood! Come on out and maybe we'll only skin eat one of you."
Winova: "Heheh! Even though we'll try and eat them all."
Kaltezo: "Yeah, but they don't need to know that..." (whispers)
Winova: "Oh, right. Heheh."
Kaltezo: "Show yourselves already! I know you're somewhere in those thickets! I can smell the fear."
He cackles as he activates the Medallion of Lava around his neck.
Kaltezo: "If you do not surrender yourselves, then we'll leave you to burn in a molten lava pit!"
......In the bushes nearby......
Yuki: "Oh God... if he can smell me... I'll give myself up. You guys go."
Zaino: "Whoa... wait a minute. Yuki..."
Yuki: "He smells my perfume. That's what Kaltezo is smelling. I have to give myself up."
Zaino: "No way. He and his fox-bat hybrid will kill you."
Yuki: "I know, but it won't happen because I believe everything will be fine and that the Vitaea will protect us."
Zaino: "Yuki? I just..."
He grabs her paw to pull her back into the thickets.
Kaltezo: "I'll flush them out. See if you can grab at least one of them."
Winova: "Heheh..."
Kaltezo powers up the medallion and uses a controlled burst of lava to engulf the area, while Winova flies to the canopy and spots the teens hiding in the bushes below.
Winova: "There's the meat!
Winova licks her chops and dive bombs them in a vicious attack. She slashes JJ's arm and pins Yuki, Alicia, and Ruth first.
Winova: "Aww, so many furries to kill and... eat."
Jackson Junior: (snarls)
Sherman: (snarls)
Winova: "Uhh, Uhh! Surrender to us now or these three die."
Mitchell throws a rock at Winova , but misses.
Winova: "What did I just say?!"
She shoots Yuki in the shoulder and slashes Alicia and Ruth sadistically.
Alicia: "Ahh! Why are you doing this?"
Winova: "Because I can... and I'm hungry for fresh meat! So is my Kaltie. Now shut your muzzle and keep quiet."
Everyone complies with Winova's demands and Kaltezo walks over and aims his right paw at the entire group. As a molten flame engulfs his fist, he looks at Sherman.
Kaltezo: "You the leader of this outfit?"
Sherman: "Yeah, I am."
Aubrey: "Shermie..."
Sherman: "It will be fine, Aubs."
Kaltezo: "Let me take the three orphan rejects and me and Winova will let you keep your three team members alive."
Sherman: "No."
Kaltezo: "Heheh, alright. Babe, start chopping the basset hound first."
Winova stabs and twists a knife into Yuki's arm.
Yuki: "Ahh! Ahhh! Gah!"
Kaltezo: "Now, you have more chance to agree. Or we kill her and move on to the next two."
Sherman: "We're not giving up your victims, just because you want to trade them as lumps of flesh!"
Kaltezo: "I still didn't hear a yes."
Jackson Junior lunges at Kaltezo with a burst of spiritual power.
Kaltezo fires a lava ball at Jackon Junior, but is then surprisingly knocked down by Felicia.
Felicia: "Ahhh!"
She collapses from the singed burn in her left torso.
Sherman: "We are not surrendering to you!"
Kaltezo: "Okay. Kill the coyote girl."
Ruth: "No! Stop! Stop! Please!"
Ruth screams as Winova sadistically cuts a piece of her fur and threatens to slice the back of her neck.
Jackson Junior: "You can take who you want! Just spare our teammates and the students you stole. Just stop... please!"
Kaltezo: "Better."
Winova stops and lets Ruth, Yuki, and Alicia  go and the other stay close to them.
Kaltezo: "Take our first subjects Nyla, Nikita, and Anita. We'll need them for the heist. "
Winova: "With pleasure. We do need a good distraction."
Then Kaltezo and Winova pack up their campsite and push the three along with Echova, Spencer, Elizabeth, and Armando into the back of the vehicle.
Kaltezo: "Sovolchi Twins, awaken!"
He kicks them awake and the Sovolchi Twins jump the trunk of the van.
Kaltezo: "And just to be certain that we won't be followed....
He melts the ground into a river of molten lava long enough to block Sherman and the others from crossing.
Kaltezo: "Alright! Let's roll baby."
Winova starts the engine and the crew drives all the way to the First National Bank of Animalia in Coastal City.
