Skye's POV

Another day another dollar, or in my case, school. Baxter and I had got into a routine, which is impressive considering it's only been over a week. Breakfast together, he walks Blue and I'm at school, learning of course and not scheming.

The absence of people woke me up from class, like I said, definitely not scheming, well, maybe a little. I grab my book off the desk when my teacher calls me to the front. Everyone else gets their freedom, but it's my favourite teacher so I don't mind.

"Skye, I just wanted to know how you're doing" she asks sympathetically

I smile clutching my book "I'm doing okay" I tilt my head "Is there a reason I shouldn't be?"

She shakes her head frantically "No, not at all" I can tell by her slightly panicked face there is something else "It's just I know you've been through a lot. The whole fire accusation and the accident. How is Tyler by the way?" she doesn't give me a chance to answer "And I noticed you aren't hanging around with Brooke"

"Miss. Blossom Breathe!" I instruct

She complies. For a teacher she knows a whole lot of information. I'm not overly surprised, Miss. Blossom is not the youngest among the teachers but she's young at heart and is far from following the other teachers style. She's the type to catch the gossip and test their theories, but also be a comfort to a student in need.

"I'm perfectly fine. Tyler remains in one piece, he should be coming back soon" or he better be, I'm started to feel singled out. "As for Brooke, it's complicated"

Her breathing pattern has returned to normal "What about Grayson? He's not been attending school, and nobody has heard from him"

I try to mask my confusion. He's not been at school, I just thought I'd done a good job avoiding him but now he's absent. I try to push the worry aside, he isn't my problem, although, Lorenzo's little comment does make me think otherwise.

"Sorry miss, I have no idea. We aren't really on the best terms" I sound as causal as I can.

She frowns, showing her newly formed wrinkles, that's what teaching teenagers does to you, age. "Well, if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here" I smile and nod.

I admire Miss. Blossom for her care towards students even if it is for the latest scoop, but yet again, the stuff I'm dealing with isn't public knowledge.

As I stack my locker that still the photos Brooke insisted to put up to make it look less glib, my phone rings. I groan and pull it out from my back pocket.

Swing by Miss Valerie's. There's something here for you ~V xx

I ring her since it requires less energy and it beats standing alone for a few minutes. She answers after the second ring

'If this is a master plan of yours I want no part in it' I say bluntly

She gasps 'How very dare you'

'Come on Vanessa, you're just as bad as Baxter'

'I have no idea what you're talking about. But I'm being serious, there's a bag for you. Do not ask me what's in it. It looks shady and that's something I DO NOT want part in'

I laugh turning back to my locker 'Fine, I'll come in later. But if my brother's there I will seriously never speak to you'

'Don't get me started on your brother' she groans.

'YESS! Someone who can relate'

She laughs and the bell rings 'I've got to go. But by the way V you don't need to sign off a text, I have caller ID"
