Skye's POV
*BANG*
"Wrong!" Tyler announces
Arthur takes a bullet through his chest. I lunge forward, catching the lit zippo before it hits the floor. The gold case hands in the palm of my hands an inch away from the floor.
I sigh with relief.
If it had hit the floor the Grayson would be burnt alive. I close the case as Arthur falls at my feet, still alive but clutching onto chest. Grayson is wide eyed, fear and relief, he lives to see another day.
I start untying the thick and heavy duty rope "Nice timing" I tell Tyler who's proudly standing behind the chair.
"And you said building the wall ladder was a waste of time" He smirks, I roll my eyes.
"Yes, your 9 year old self should be very proud"
He stands above his Father with confidence. "Didn't see that one coming, did you? Dad"
Arthur tries to speak but it comes out as groans "My own son"
Tyler kicks the gun away that Arthur was reaching for with a chuckle. "Just kill him already" Grayson says
I look up at him "You don't call the shots here" I coldly reply making him gulp.
"That's the last time you mess with the people I care about" he spits.
Raising his gun again he says "Say hi to the devil for me" the ear splitting noise of one finally shot rattles through the air, it's amplified due to the small proximity.
Arthur is stone cold dead.
It feels surreal. The man who's made my life and more importantly everyone's life hell.
"You okay?" I ask
"I'm fine" Grayson replies
"I wasn't talking to you" I finish untying the final knot and set him free, he looks embarrassed "Are you okay?"
Tyler nods still looking down at Arthur, his blood has puddle around him. I wrap my arms around Tyler's neck and after a few seconds he wraps his around my waist "You did a hard thing" I say comforting him
"I know" he whispers "It was the only way" I can sense the emotional break in his voice but he clears his throat and slowly pulls away from me. He flashes me a small smile.
"So, what now?" Grayson asks awkwardly
I turn my gaze onto Tyler and then back to Arthur "We finish how this started" I smirk
With that we leave the room carrying jerry cans full of gasoline emptying them as we walk. I flick the zippo against my jeans sparking the flame as we walk out. Throwing it over my shoulder with Tyler and Grayson either side of me. The whole place sets on fire. The sound of the incoming explosion brings a dark smile on all of us.
"I never thought Sheila's house would end up like this" I say leaning on my opened car door.
The levels of the old house soon collapses. "It's the way she would have wanted it" Tyler smiles. Grayson of course had no idea what was going on.
"Gasoline boy" Tyler pops his boot and throws Grayson a shirt. He catches it and happily changes. "See you there" He gets in his car and drives ahead.
"How did you know where I was?" Grayson asks from beside me. We haven't been alone since the argument and school. I'm not even sure what happened with him, Arthur didn't exactly clear all my questions up.
"Simple. That house is Tyler's Grandmothers. We used to go there as kids, I loved that house" I smile remembering all the time we used to bake cookies and play in the woods.
"It was abandoned" he states in confusion
"It wasn't always. Shelia always kept a tidy home and she hated Tyler's Dad so it's ironic really" I smirk "As for finding you. The little rhyme Arthur said over the phone is something she used to say it to us. It was so when she wasn't around anymore we would remember she would never leave us. When she got sick it's what we always used to tell each other" It's a bitter sweet memory.
"Well, it saved my life" "You saved my life"
I shake my head "Tyler saved your life. He's the one who shot his Dad and burnt his safe place" Tyler used to spend hours there when she died.
"I didn't see that one coming" he laughs
I pull into the club. We're nowhere near done with this conversation, I need a lot of blanks filled in.
Baxter runs to the entrance as I walk through. He's like a sniper. "SKYE" He shouts as he stops rubbing the temples of his forehead. His strong arms pull me to his chest, his tight embrace slowly clams me down, I still have fight mood on.
His eyes turned dark when Grayson walks in. He storms over and immediately goes for his throat. I run in front, the only thing separating the walking time bomb and the countdown is my body "Bax calm down" he still has his hands on Grayson's shirt "Baxter, look at me right now" "BAX" his jaw locks but he finally looks down at me.
"This isn't his fault" Baxter growls at him and lets go, Grayson stumbles back knocking into the pillar.
"Up" he demands hitting the top of the bar. I'm confused until I see my leg bleeding, I must have cut my leg when I caught the zippo.
I jump on the bar and rest my hands on his shoulder "Relax, I'm still alive" I joke
"This was a suicide mission and you know it Skye" he says with real anger in his voice.
"But I made it" I smile bringing his head up by his chin "We all did" he squints in confusion.
"You didn't think I went in without a plan?" "I called Tyler"
His eyes go wide "I called him and the little shit didn't answer" he grumbles
Just on time Tyler walks in "I was busy saving lives"
I glare at him "Save it dummy. I've saved you life so many times" he rolls his eyes at my very true fact.
Baxter continues to work on my leg "I could have helped" his voice is laced with hurt
"It wasn't about favouritism Bax" his eyes meet mine "He was Tyler's Dad, he had the right to finish this" he nods understanding my sentiment. Some may think it is worse killing your own Father but this was something Tyler needed, all the years he put him through hell "Besides, he was getting lazy" I smirk. Tyler sits at the end of the bar helping himself to the snacks on the bar.
He gasps with a crisp in his mouth "You're the one who gave me the keys to your penthouse"
I reply with "whatever"
Tyler has been spending the week out of hospital at my penthouse in the hotel. I didn't want to stay there and quite frankly I couldn't deal with him living at the apartment, there would be way to many arguments.
"How have you managed to cut yourself in the exact same spot as last time?" Baxter asks bandaging my leg
I shrug "In my opinion that's pretty impressive" "You're going to make a great doctor" I say quietly, a small smile rises on his face with just a simple compliment. There is not a doubt in my mind that Baxter will thrive at university.
