"can you get me one of the pizza pretzels"

i turned to look over at kayla as she spoke, nodding my head silently and walking toward where nick was.

he had went ahead and gotten in line at the 'wetzel's pretzels' while me and kayla tried to figure out what to order.

we had just barely gotten to the mall when kayla started her tirade of bugging for a damn soft pretzel again, so we skipped over the stores i wanted to look through at the entrance and made our way to food court to satisfy my hungry best friend.

i grabbed the boy's hand, standing next to him as we waited for the person in front of us to finish. i felt him give my hand a little squeeze as we walked toward the counter.

"what do you want bub?" he asked me, turning to look at me with a smile.

"just a salted pretzel with cheese, and kayla wants a pizza one." he nodded his head and turned to the cashier.

he quickly ordered our food, adding one some of the 'wetzel bitz' with jalapeño cheese for himself.

"that'll be $13.52" the cashier told us, instinctively i swung my backpack around so i could grab my wallet and pay, but i was quickly shut down by nick already handing his card across the counter.

i shook my head, him turning to look at me as he collected his card back, "nice try but i'm paying"

"fine, but i'm paying next" i remarked, but he just shook his head at me and regrabbed my hand that he had dropped to pay for our pretzels.

not long after our items we placed in front of us on the counter, we collected them and made our way towards the table kayla had been sitting at.

i dropped his hand to place kayla's pizza pretzel in front of her. she hadn't noticed that he walked up until i placed it down, causing her to drop her phone and look up at me. "thank you thank you thank you!!" she exclaimed, "ugh this smells so good i'm so excited to eat it"

i laughed at her excitement, taking a seat beside her and grabbing my pretzel and cheese cup.

"i've been craving this for so long, but i didn't want to go to the mall by myself while you were gone." she told us.

"you need to me something? are you pregnant?" i joked, causing her to pause and slowly turn to face me. carefully putting her half eaten pretzel down on top of the wrapper.

"farah i'm literally gay, if you make a pregnant joke one more time i'm actually going to push you out of a moving vehicle." she calmly said, her words laced with seriousness. turning back and going to finish eating her pretzel.

i looked across at nick who was trying his best to hold in his laughter. i swiftly kicked his shin, causing him to cry out a bit, "ow faye, harsh."

now it was my turn to laugh, some of the cheese i had just dipped my pretzel in falling off the piece i had just ripped off.

"just bullying everyone around you today, aren't you farah?" kayla quipped from beside me. i just shook my head, "this is just payback from you two bullying me in the car this morning."
