Steve- Library

You stood on your tippy toes as you tried to reach the book from the library shelf, giving it all your strength.

"Ugh why do I have to be so short" you whispered in a low voice

Suddenly, you heard loud cheering, you looked over just to see 5 boys outside being wild and wrecking plants.

You rolled your eyes as you jumped down, you knew the boys.. you were always paired up with one of them in a school project, but there was this one boy you liked best.. Steve Randle, you never had the nerve to introduce yourself.

You looked up at the shelf determined to get that book, it was newest and you didn't want any spoilers, as you reached up, you saw another hand go up and grab the book..

"Hey" you said

"Sorry, just wanted to give you this" a voice said

You turned around just Steve Randle right in front of you, giving you the book

"Oh thanks" you said as you smiled innocently and took the book

He smiled, his sweet precious smile

"So, I'm sorry about my friends.. they act like 5 year olds, but don't worry only 3 of them go to school, but one rarely comes anyway" he stated

You looked over at them as Dally was chasing Sodapop with a spider in his hand..

"Yup, they're the loudest.. where's the big muscular one?" you asked

"Work"

"Oh"

Steve fiddled with his books

"So.. the school dance is coming up this Friday" he said

You nodded, flipping through your book

"Y'know who your taking?" he asked

You looked up as you shook your head

"Nah I never go to those things" you said

Steve leaned his elbow on the bookshelf as he crossed his legs

"Why not doll?" he asked

You blushed beet red, Steve must have noticed cause he laughed softly

He must have realized what he said because he quickly stood straight and his face blushed red.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to call you that, I don't know what got into me I-"

You laughed "No it's okay, don't apologize, that's the sweetest thing a boys ever called me" you smiled

He smiled as he let out a breath of relief

"But anyways, uh- I don't know, I guess it's because I never get asked" you said as you looked at him

"Oh, well I was wondering maybe if yo-" he began

You looked at him, your eyes sparkling waiting for his response

"Ah forget it, a pretty doll like you wouldn't be interested" he said

"Wh- no, no tell me!" you pleaded

"Okay I was maybe wondering if you.. wanted to go to the dance with me" he asked

Your eyes lit up as you smiled widely

"Steve I would love to" you said trying to hold back your excitement

He smiled at you as he looked up

"Great, I guess I'll see you on Friday" he said while walking out of the library

"Can't wait" you said while waving

When you made sure he left you leaped up in the air

"YES" you squealed
