I woke up to the annoying sound of my heart rate, the ceiling was blurry at first, but then I got the hang of it..
I looked over just to see the gang in the corner of the room.. well only Dallas and Darry. Steve and Sodapop were running around the hospital while Ponyboy and Johnny were raiding the cafetoria, and Two-Bit.. well, he was nowhere to be found.
I slowly groaned as the gang quickly rushed over to you..
"Reagan.." Darry said as he stroked your hair
I slowly managed to open my eyes and say something.. but it was hard, since my mouth felt so dry.
"H-hey Dar" I said dryly
They all smiled at me knowing I was okay..
I was about to say something when the Doctor came in..
"Reagan.. Reagan Curtis?" the doctor said as he flipped through his clipboard
"That's me" I said weakly raising my hand
"Hi Reagan.." She said
"I'm Doctor Matthews, and I have some news to share with you guys.. of course if it's okay with you" She said
I nodded my head gently
She smiled as she turned to the gang
"So, we may have found a solution for Reagans hemoptysis.." she began slowly
The gang's eyes widened as did yours
"Well what is it doc?" Darry asked
"Well, we could preform surgery, but we can only do that if your okay with it" she said
I quickly nodded my head
"YES YES CURE ME" I yelled
The gang all laughed except Darry
"S-So is there a possibility for a cause of death?" he asked slowly as the gangs eyes filled with worry
The Doctor slowly put her Clipboard under her arm, and took off her glasses
"Well.. as terrifying as that sounds, there is a possibility of harm, IF we don't do the procedure right.. but Mr. Curtis I guarantee you we have the best surgeon here in ST. Tulsa" She said
Darry looked at me then at the doctor again, when all of a sudden he pointed his attention to me.
"Reagan.. are you really sure you want to do this?" He asked me as if I was an injured animal
I nodded my head violently
"Darry! I wanna get better.. don't you want me to get better?" I asked
Darry smiled at me
"Of course lil sis" he said
The doctor smiled as she handed Darry something to sign, the gang all looked at me and started hugging me, when they were done.. Dallas sat down on the bed next to me.
"Don't worry Rea, your gonna be find kid, Dallas Winston's n-"
"Never wrong yeah, yeah you might have mentioned it a bit too much times" I said as I interrupted him
He smiled at me and kissed my cheek..
"So when can we perform the operation?" Sodapop asked
"Well, since she's already in a hospital we could perform it right now.. or another day if you want" She said
The gang all looked at me and I nodded
"I think we'll be doing it today" Darry said
"Alright" she said while signing the clipboard,
"I'll go on ahead and get the room ready.. nurse Angel will come and get you ready Reagan" she said
"Thank you Dr. Matthews" I smiled,
She looked at me and waved as she closed the curtains and walked away..
I sighed, the gang all gave me a big hug.. as the nurse drove me out of the room..
"Bye Reagan!"
"We'll wait for you here"
"Be strong"
"We love you"
"Bye doll"
You gave them a thumbs up and leaned against the pillow while the nurse drove you around the hospital..
Your heart was pounding and you were shaking.. you were really nervous but you didn't want to worry Darry, so you just thought of the good things.
Suddenly, you pulled up into the operating room, where you found 3 doctors looking really scary, but you chilled out once they smiled at you..
They slowly placed you on the bed, while the nurse slowly injected you with something..
"HEyyyyy-" you yelled but slowly dozed off, not dreaming about anything
~Couple hours later~
I woke up to the sound of chatter, I quickly opened my eyes to find the gang quietly talking.. I groaned quietly.. my throat itched.. and I couldn't speak.
I quickly shot up, as Darry flinched,
"REAGAN ARE YOU OKAY!" He yelled
"Darry I'm f-fine" I managed to choke out
All of a sudden Doctor Matthews came in smiling..
"Well Reagan.. looks like you wont be having anymore problems with your coughing" she said
My eyes widened as I jumped up and hugged her as the gang smiled
"Thank you Doctor Matthews" I said while tears slid down my cheek
"Your welcome Reagan" She said while hugging me tighter
After, she left and the gang all smiled at me and hugged me, I laughed as they all started high-fiving each other and yelling..
Then, Dallas came over to me with a cigarette hanging from his mouth
"What I tell ya doll?" he said
I smirked as I stood in front of him, the gang all looking at us.. he looked at me with his pleading eyes.. then all of a sudden I stood of my toes and pulled his head towards mine..
"Stop sugar coating Winston" I said as I kissed him
He smiled and wrapped his big arms around me..
At this point, Dallas Winston was no other than mine..
