All I could do was just stare at the wedding invitation my crush Steve sent me. Your fingers made it all the way to the day it was going to be on.
In a week.
You laughed and thought to yourself, 'Of course its in a week, when did Steve ever want to wait'. I couldn't help but notice a teardrop on the card. I wiped my eyes and put the card back in the envelope. I walked into my house and threw the envelope on the counter. I ran up to my room and flopped down on my bed. I started wondering whether or not I should go. If I did go then I would completely loose it and do something I might regret. BUT If I didn't go that would mean I'm a horrible friend.
I shook my head. All I needed was a break. So I decided to go to the Curtis' house. As I started walking I saw Steve working on a car. I smiled, I loved it when he worked on cars, as he bent down I saw a girl behind him laughing. I took a closer look, right when I was just about to get a better view, he kissed her.
My Steve, kissed her. 'Must be his wife' I thought.
I slapped myself across the face to get out of my daze. I continued walking. When I finally reached the Curtis' house I felt relived. It felt like I've been walking for days. As I opened the door, I felt a warm breeze hit my face. I shut the door behind me and looked around to see all the guys sitting on the sofa.
They all shifted their heads towards me.
"Hey Y/N!" they all shouted
"HI GUYS!" I shouted back mocking them. I made my way to the bathroom.
-A couple seconds later-
I was washing my hands when I heard the Curtis' door open. Since the bathroom door wasn't very thick.. It was easy to hear conversations. I was about to open the door when I heard Steve's voice. I quietly opened the door just a bit so I could hear better.
"Hey Guys!" Steve said
"Hey Steve" the guys responded
I wanted to open the door and jump in his arms, just like I used to when we were dating. Then all of a sudden I saw a female enter the house. I could see the gang's faces all shift towards her.
"Hey Guys!" She said awfully preppy
The gang all nodded at her awkwardly smiling.
"So I just wanted to make sure you guys were all coming to my wedding" Steve said Uncomfortably.
"For sure" Soda said
"Mhm" Dallas said not really paying attention
"Wouldn't miss it for the world" Ponyboy said
Steve looked around the room fiddling with his fingers.
"So is Y/N here?" Steve asked awkwardly
"yeah she's in the bathroom" Johnny said pointing towards the door
"So has Y/N met little Mrs. Randle" Dally said in a jokingly voice
Steve was looking at his feet.
"No.. that's why I bought Liana here, to introduce her to Y/N"
All of a sudden I heard a bunch of 'Oh no's'
"Steve please tell me you did not send her a wedding invitation" Darry said
"I kind of did-"
Then I heard the gang all groan
"STEVE SHES GONNA BE HEARTBROKEN!" Pony said
I wasn't listening to the conversation anymore.. I was examining Steve's new girlfriend. And boy was she pretty. Now I understood why Steve broke up with me.
I decided to build up my confidence and exit out of the bathroom. As I shut the door behind me all 8 eyes landed on me. I leaned against the doorframe and smiled awkwardly at the couple.
"Hey Y/N" Steve said looking really excited to see me
"Hey Stevie" I said trying my best to keep on smiling.
"Y/N.. Uhm- this Is my fiancé.." he said while she smiled stupidly
"Hm, a Soc I presume?" I said firmly
"Yeah Howdya know?" She said
"Lucky guess"
"Well I'm Liana" she added while sticking out her hand
"Y/N" I said while shaking it. Steve was looking nervous and the gang was looking interested. I noticed Darry and Soda standing up just in case I decided to attack her. I looked at her.. She was still shaking my hand. I smiled at her and quickly pulled it away.
"Well I better get going" I said as I picked up my bag and started heading out. As I opened the door I heard Dallas yell
"DON'T WORRY Y/N YOUR MUCH OF A BABE THEN LIMA BEAN" He laughed as the gang threw pillows at him
I couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Then as I was about to close the door I felt a strong hand grab my arm. It was Steve.
"Hey Uh Y/N.. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about this sooner"
I just stared into his sparkling eyes
"Oh don't sweat it" I said trying to reply nicely as possible.
"So.. are you still coming to the wedding?" he asked hopefully
All I could do was stare at him. With no answer. My mouth went dry, but I finally managed to spit something out.
"Uh- Yes Of course wouldn't miss it for the world" I said fighting back the tears.
"Okay Just making sure.." he said as he started walking inside the house
I turned around and started heading my own way when suddenly I heard him yell
"Hey Y/N even though things didn't work out between us I'm still happy that your still in my life!" He yelled through the window
"Me too" I said while waving.
A tear slid down my cheek. I couldn't believe that I'm letting the love of my life into the hands of a soc..
