"I know."
Aizawa brought Lena back home early morning the next day, due to her passing out before he could take her home.
Before he brought her home, during the car ride and outside her door he kept on asking if she was okay and if she needed his company, still. She said she was fine.
She wasn't. Saying goodbye was like turning on a switch that tapped her out. She walked through her door, was able to get to her bedroom, but it was all automatic.
Sometimes she didn't mind being alone, but more often than not it cuts a lot deeper than it should. The emptiness of her home is such a reminder of how alone she is.
She needed to be with someone. But not Aizawa, Mina, or anyone who knows. It can't be Jirou, Kaminari, or Sero because they're too kind, and would persist to know what's wrong.
She needed to be with Katsuki, because he wouldn't care. He wouldn't even notice if she were upset, and she wouldn't need to talk. He would treat her normally- sad or not.
She pulled out her phone from her pocket and found his contact.
-
Katsukikatsuki
can i see you? i can come over if
u don't want to go out, or we can
go out. you don't even need to talk
just be there, please-
She sounded desperate. She never asked him like this. But she needed to get her point across.
-
No.
-
She dropped her phone and buried her head in her hands. She laughed at herself. Of course he would say no. What reason does he have to stay with her when she is basically telling him she's sad. He has no reason to care for her comfort.
But it hurt her. So bad. She realized long ago his company was different than Mina's or Kirishima's, Kaminari's or Sero. Around him she doesn't feel the need to make him happy. She doesn't need to push the energy in the room to be high, and to make sure everyone is having a good time. She can just be there. He isn't someone she needs to try and be her best self around. She doesn't need to be acknowledgeable at all.
She doesn't know why. Maybe it's because she is content with already being acknowledged by him. He considers her a friend, or maybe even just an acquaintance. But he considers her as something, and that's further than anyone else has been.
Even if she couldn't be with him, she needed to get out. She needed to leave because the emptiness of the room is crawling at her. Whispering in her ear and making sure she knows just how alone she is.
Because even though she has three toothbrushes in her bathroom, one for Kirishima and one for Mina. And even though she had to buy another set of dishes because of her growing house company. And even though she has foods in her fridge with Kirishima's name scrawled on it, or she has snacks in her pantry that she would never eat herself. And even though she has pictures hanging up on her wall of her with her friends- family, she is still alone.
The room screams isolation. Shows just how much company she can have, but still feel alone. Because while she's supported by so many, she is understood by none. Because no one has gone through what she has, and she would never wish to find another person that has. Another person that has gone through her horrors. She cannot wish another to share the same pain as she has gone through, because it is something so cruel that it would make her as bad as her brother.
