"I am just saying that perhaps we need to be a little bit more cautious with what we do around them." Yoongi said. They had been having this conversation for a while now. With his realization that the boys had been able to read the atmosphere after scarcely looking at Hobi for but a moment, he had realized that it was incredibly important that they try to keep their emotions under wraps. He hesitated to say that they had underestimated them...but they had underestimated their charges. The best thing for them to do now would be to simply fix that. They needed to be more careful anyways. It was not everyday that they get shoved three underage charges. While yes, they were almost of age, they were still teenagers. Not to mention they were not used to being looked after, something which, although saddening, would just put them on edge if they shoved too much at the kids too quickly.
Yoongi knew that they were treading on oh so very slippery ground, and they had not even begun to bring up actually training the kids yet, and potentially even bringing them in under their wing once they were old enough. It had been almost three days now. The first day they spent holed up in their room, the second who knows where, and it looks like the third would be much of the same now that they were once again hiding in their rooms.
Yoongi understood. If any of them would it would have been him. He knew that they had secrets, and quite a lot of them if anything he had noted about them was to go by. He also knew that they did not really feel comfortable with them yet. Which, perhaps, was partially his fault. They were pushing them too much far too quickly. Not to mention that they had read the boys' file. Undoubtedly they expected to be sent back at any point in time now, and were just waiting for the moment that they had enough of them to send them back to the orphanage.
"But we officially adopted them." Was Jin's confused response when Yoongi has shouted the words over him and Hobi arguing about the best way to handle the boys. Hobi just stared at him in utter shock that he had shouted, and NamJoon did not fare much better at the realization that the quiet Hyung had actually shouted.
"True, but even then they can still be left at the orphanage again. Just because someone was officially adopted does not mean that they will stay with them forever. Think about it this way too, they are so used to being moved around they probably lost hope anyone would want them. Let alone all three of them together."
"Yoongi does have a point." NamJoon interjected when Jin went to deny it. "I mean, they have lived almost their entire lives in a system that kind of forgot about them, and under families that were so horrible it hurts to even think about. We need to be gentle with them."
"How do you expect us to do that more then what we have already been doing?" Jin demanded, staring at NamJoon with fire in his eyes. "We have not pushed them, we only set a curfew, and we never even punished them for failing to follow it the first time. We still do not know where they went for the entire night, and we did not even bother trying to find out. The only time that we pushed them was when we said they needed cell phones to be able to contact us, and that they needed new clothes." Jin sighed heavily. "I am trying to be gentle, but they keep rebuffing every effort I make to get close to them."
NamJoon put a hand on Jin's shoulder, attempting to comfort him. They all knew that the youngest three had really put Jin through the ringer today. Perhaps without meaning to, maybe with every intention of doing exactly that. Yoongi had the feeling it was probably somewhere in the middle.
"Maybe we should start with the training?" Hobi suggested. The other three cut their eyes to the so far silent member of the group. "I mean, that was why we said we were taking them in right? To help train them? I mean, we have not even begun to give them a time that we would start. It may not be the best, but perhaps it can be a beginning? If we are training them that shows that we have some intent of keeping them until at the very least the end of their training right? So they would feel perhaps a bit more stable staying with us."
"Yoongi-Hyung, what do you think?" NamJoon asked, turning to the one who started this whole conversation in the first place. Yoongi grimaced.
It was not that Hobi's idea was bad persay, but more like their training would likely be held back if they thought that was the only reason that they were being allowed to stay with them. Then again, perhaps not. It really just depended on what they thought of them. Hobi was right about one thing though, and that was that it would help them feel a bit more stable. At the very least it would ensure that they knew that the four of them were not just going to throw them out at the first sign of disobedience. Hopefully it would help them relax a little bit around them.
It was a bit much to hope for, and Yoongi was not really the 'hope for the best' type of person, but even he could admit it was the best plan that they had so far. They did not really think of anything else. Did not really know anything else that could work. There was just so much to unpack.
"I think that is a good idea. For now at least. We need to be careful though. We have a training area that we can take them to, and begin to at the very least see the scope of their ability. I still get the feeling that they will try to hide some of their abilities from us, because it is obvious that there is more then what we are seeing, but it will give us some credit at least for now. We just need to be careful that this does not cause them to impede their training purposefully later on. For now, them thinking that we won't let them leave at the very least until we deem them trained enough is good, but it is not a permanent solution." Yoongi warned them.
"At least we have something." Jin muttered under his breath.
