When Taehyung woke it was slow. He did not, at first, realize where they were. That was not entirely uncommon. Many times there were when he, Jungkook, and Jiminie would wander around the various cities that they were shoved to. There never truly had to be a specific reason, just the fact that they wanted to get away, to clear their head was enough. As such, it was not exactly uncommon for them to not really know where they were upon waking. Typically, this would not be a good thing, but after several times of it happening, they were all kind of used to it. They could not say whether or not that was a positive or a negative, but they never really bothered thinking too much about that. It caused too much trouble, and they hated trouble.
After a few seconds of his vision fading in and out due to exhaustion, he finally managed to focus, and swiftly relaxed as he saw that they were in their cabin. While they all may be used to waking up in places that they were not necessarily known in or where they themselves had no idea what it was, it did not mean that they liked it. Sure, being used to something was fine, but liking something was not necessarily the same thing after all.
"Jimin Hyung," Taehyung groaned. He fisted his eyes, forcing them open to look at the short Hyung, who was instantly by his side with a smile and bright eyes, welcoming him to the land of the living.
"Tae!" Jimin called happily. "Good to see you are finally awake." Taehyung rolled his eyes at the others dramatics. It was not a bad thing, and Jimin's flair for drama was well known to both Taehyung and Jungkook, which meant that many times it was both useful, and interesting, but also lifted up the mood several times.
"I was not asleep for that long, Jimin Hyung," Taehyung said with a small laugh.
"Speak for yourself," Jungkook muttered under his breath. Taehyung turned to the other, dark eyes piercing.
"How long was I asleep?" Taehyung was a little worried now. He did not know how long they had been here, but from the looks of it was clear that they had missed curfew. Now that he thought about it, there was no way that the other two did not realize this either. While he knew that getting information on their new guardians was going to be a heavy task, one that would not be easily done, he knew that Jungkook had several ways of getting the information automatically, and forwarding it to his phone, so that they could work from pretty much anywhere. It was how they had managed to go so long without visiting the place the last time they had been cornered by some lowlives nearby.
"Around About 15ish hours." Jungkook answered, voice unpreterbed. Taehyung, however, was most certainly not unpreturbed.
"You do realize that we had a curfew, right?" Taehyung asked, wanting to just check and make sure that they did not forget. It was not like they often obeyed a curfew in the first place, but then again they typically managed to get out of whatever pathetic people tried to adopt them once the government realized it was fairly futile trying to split them up. Furthremore, as they grow older the less likely it is for them to be adopted, not that they cared much, or to find homes willing to take one of them in, let alone all three.
"Yeah," Jimin said simply, flopping down on the couch next to Taehyung, a smile on his face. Taehyung groaned and rubbed his face, running a hand through his hair anxiously.
"Guys, you mean to tell me that you deliberately decided that it was a good idea to disobey the one order that we were given by those mafia Hyungs?" Taehyung clarified. He did not want to go insane if they said otherwise. He did not really want to overreact. He knew that he had a tendency to do that sometimes. He just...he wanted to make sure that this was what he was thinking that it was, an act of intense rebellion, and not something else.
"Yes, we did." Jungkook said, voice hard, posture all defiant. "Taehyungie, you needed rest," Jungkook said with his eyes sparkling with guilt but determined stubbornness as well. "Jimin and I both decided that it would also probably be best to test how they would react sooner rather then later. These are not like our usual run of the mill come and go guardians. These are mafia. BangTan, of all people, and we need to be careful, yes, but we also need to know how far they will go when we are unruly. It is always best to do that sooner then later."
Taehyung leaned his head back, staring at the roof of the hut they called their hideout. He knew that the other was right, he just was too nervous about the prospect of returning. They had barely been given the orders to return by twilight the same day, and now they had disobeyed those orders. He doubted that it would go over well with their newest set of guardians and he always hated the whole testing of the rules thing that they did. Of course, he knew that Jungkook was right. They could not risk not knowing just how much the others would react should they disobey the rules. It was better to learn how much their guardians react to things like that sooner then later. That meant that they would know if it was okay to test more of the rules, or if they should ditch as soon as possible.
They would not risk any of the group getting hurt. That is why they tested these simple rules such as curfews and things similar to that. The rules were not too complex to follow, they were simple, and they were not large rules such as no bringing people into the house and no going on violent sprees of anger and beating people to a pulp. Either way, simple rules were always good to test on new guardians, because by testing the simple rules, you knew at least a little bit of what it would be like should you break a larger rule.
"Did you get the information?" Taehyung asked, eyes bright, staring at Jungkook, finally having digested the situation that they were in now, and staring at Jungkook with wide eyes. Jungkook smirked and nodded simply.
"It isn't as much as I could hope for, but it is definitely more then I thought that I would be able to get, so that is something." Jungkook admitted for the second time. Taehyung nodded, visibly brightening in his seat.
