Unexpected...
As I woke up, another Monday morning welcomed me. I could see the sunlight peeking out of my bedroom window. It's so relieved as I got up from my bed and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower.
I send a message to Monique that she will accompany me to the mall to buy a gift for AJ because tomorrow is his birthday.
Hindi ko alam kung anong balak niya dahil wala naman siyang sinabi sa'kin, maybe he doesn't want to celebrate his birthday. I suddenly feel sad as I thought about his birthdays inside the prison for ten years.
I want to celebrate his birthday with me and I promise that it will end up memorable. Alam kong huli na ang lahat pero hindi ako susuko na iparamdam sa kanya kung gaano ko siya kamahal, na malaya akong mahalin ang isang tulad niya.
After class ay kaagad akong lumabas ng campus. Monique is already outside, waiting for me.
"Hira..." Napatigil ako sa paglalakad nang marinig ko ang boses ni Lyndon.
Unti-unti ko siya hinarap. Ngumiti siya at lumapit sa'kin.
"Kamusta? Ilang araw na tayong hindi nagkikita." Hindi ako nagsalita at nanatiling nakatingin lamang sa kanya.
"I-I heard that you already had a boyfriend." Saglit siyang huminto na parang hirap na hirap siyang sabihin iyon. "Is he the reason why you can't love me back because you already had someone else in your heart?" I bite my lower lip and slowly nodded.
"I'm sorry, Lyndon."
"Don't be, Hira. It's my fault because I still force myself to you even though you've already rejected me." He smiled but I know behind his smile, he is quite sad.
"That guy is very lucky dahil minahal siya ng nag-iisang Akihira Devika Villafuerte." Malungkot na sabi niya at tumawa pa ito na para bang pinipilit niyang maging masaya para sa'kin.
"You're wrong, Lyndon. Believe me or not, but I'm lucky for having him as my boyfriend." I said honestly.
Tutol man ang lahat sa'min ay alam kung hindi kahit kailanman mapapalitan ang pagmamahal ko sa kanya.
"You really love him, huh?" Aniya.
Tumango ako sa kanya na may ngiti sa labi. " Sobra," I said proudly.
Tumango siya at mapait na ngumiti sa'kin. " I want you to know that I'm happy for you. Masakit pero masaya ako para sa'yo because you finally found your happiness, Hira. Masaya ako basta makita lang kitang masaya at makukuntento na ako doon." Ilang beses kong kinurap ang mata ko para pigilan ito sa pagluha.
I have no intention of hurting, Lyndon. He's been good to me---It's just that, I can't love him like how I love AJ. Kung natuturuan lang ang puso ay sana matagal ko na siyang minahal.
