Repentance...
Looking at the raindrops hitting from my bedroom mirror was also the drop of my tears as if it's sympathizing with the pain I am feeling right now.
"Are you okay?" I heard my brother's voice from my back.
Umiling ako nang hindi nakatingin sa kanya. "I will never be okay again, kuya," I said while my tears are still flowing on my cheeks.
Naramdaman ko ang presenya niya sa tabi ko kaya napatingin ako sa kanya. "H-how did you know?" I ask him.
He sighed. " I tried to investigate about what happened that night when you told me that he was innocent pero wala akong mahanap na impormasyon." He said and dried my tears on my cheeks.
"I've already given up investigating because I can't find anything. Until one day, I accidentally saw a flash drive in his office. I was curious what inside on that flash drive so I decided to check it through my MacBook." Saglit siyang huminto para huminga ng malalim bago nagpatuloy.
" At first wala naman akong nakikitang mali dahil about sa mga business proposals lang naman ang laman ng flash drive but one folder caught my attention. And I saw the CCTV video...how he shoots Aira."
Napasinghap ako sa sinabi niya. "H-how? I thought the CCTV was off that night that's why there's no evidence was seen of how Aira was shoot, maliban sa pagtakbo ni AJ palabas sa bahay at mga drugs at baril na nakita sa loob ng sasakyan niya. " I said filled with disbelief.
"That was also what I thought before, that the CCTV was off, but no, because dad manipulate the video to hide on us what's really happened. He lied to us just to cover his own sin." Mas lalo akong napaiyak sa sinabi niya. " AJ was there that night...but he's not the one who killed Aira."
"I can't believe that Dad can do that. How was he able to give his sin to AJ? He ruined AJ's life, kuya. Hindi lang ang buhay ni AJ ang sinira niya but also AJ's parents." Humagulhol ako sa harap niya.
Ilang araw na nga ba hindi ko kinakausap si AJ dahil tuwing naririnig ko ang masayang boses niya ay parang sinasaksak ang puso ko.
Dad was already put in jail secretly, gladly that my brother has the power to rot him in jail. Hindi muna pinalabas sa publiko ang pagkakakulong niya because my brother was still fixing everything.
"I think I own an apology from him." He said and sighed. "You're right, he's a nice guy and I feel bad for him for ruining his life. Dad took his life for ten years and face the sins that he didn't commit." Umiiyak na tumango ako kay kuya.
Niyakap niya ako nang mahigpit at hinalikan ang noo ko. "I want dad to pay what he did." He said. " But before I release the truth in the publicity, I want you and mom out of this country. I don't want to see mom and you suffered again while watching him." Hindi ako umimik at nanatiling tahimik na umiiyak lamang sa dibdib niya.
Mom was rushed to hospital when she found out that dad was behind on Aira's death. Dalawang araw siyang nanatili sa hospital becasuse of stress at hindi kami nagkaroon ng oras ni Mommy para pag-usapan iyon dahil ayaw kong makita ulit siya na umiiyak sa harapan ko.
