Chapter 22: Can’t loose
Des POV
Light was streaming through my window and right into my eyes. “Stupid morning.” I mumble reaching out for Justine. My arms fell into emptiness and my Eyes shot open. Panic surged through my body as I jumped out of bed. I swung my door open with so much force I was surprised it didn’t fall off the hinges. Albin jumped two feet as he walked past my room. “Have you seen Justine?” I yelled at him. He got a stupid look on his face and I could tell he was about to lie to me. “Nope, I haven’t” I stepped forward grabbing his throat and shoving him to the wall. “Where is she?” I asked venom dripping from my voice. He’s eyes were big and he looked scared. He was gasping for air do to my hold around his throat. “Kitchen.” He said with very little air. I dropped him and ran into the kitchen. Albin dropped onto his knees and even in the living room, I could still hear him gasping for breath. “Where’s Justine?” I asked Alex. He had something in his hands and he and Jess looked like they about to hang something up. There were stepstools and streamers littering the floor. “She’s in the kitchen.” Alex said fast seeing the anger in my eyes.
She was at the stove taking a cake out of the oven as I walked in. My anger fizzled out as my eyes set on her. She put the cake on the stove as I walked to her. Carefully I wrapped my arms around her waist. She jumped at first, but then leaned against me. “Don’t ever do that to me again.” I whispered roughly into her hair. “What did I do?” She asked confused. She sounded so innocent and perfect. “You gave me a heart attack when I wake up and you weren’t there.” She let out a light laugh. “My bad, next time I’m sure your cake will bake it’s self.” She said sarcastically. “I’m not joking. I almost killed Albin trying to find you.” I said my voice full of anger. “You almost did what?” She asked mad as she spun around. My stomach dropped and I immediately regretted saying that. “Nothing.” I said with a big gulp. Her eyes glared at me as she laid her hands on her hips. “Albin come in here!” She yelled. I knew she was pissed at me, by the glare in her eyes and her face of disappointment. I had seen disappointed faces on a daily bases, but when she was wearing the face I felt ashamed and guilty. They were both clawing at my stomach.
Albin walked into the room. He didn’t look scared anymore or at all upset. He didn’t even have bruises around his throat. I must not have held his throat that hard, just enough to block air. “What did he do?” Justine asked turning from glaring at me. I begged at him with my eyes to not tell her and he actually listened to them. “Des, didn’t do anything, he just scared me that’s all.” I gave him a thankful smile and he nodded as he walked away. Justine turned still looking mad. “I know there more to that, but it’s your guy’s birthday. I guess I’ll just forget about it.” Her face then formed into a smile. I hugged her close and kissed her head. “Are you two done scaring everyone?” Albin called into us. I let out a laugh. “Yeah, Bro. Happy Birthday!” With that he came back to the kitchen. “Happy birthday to you too. By the way, that was your gift.” He said with a smile.
Justine was still in my arms and could hear everything we were saying, but she didn’t say anything in return. “It was a great gift, thanks. I’m not sure if mine to you will be as great.” I say sarcastically. I knew my gift for him was way better than his gift to me. Justine snuck out of my arms and left the room. “Where she going?” Albin asked me confused. “Getting your gift.” I said with a small smile. Then Jess came into the kitchen. “You two get to the Living room, before Justine has a nervous breakdown.” “I’m not having a nervous breakdown!” Justine yelled back.
Justine was standing in the living room with two gifts in her hands. “Guys sit.” She demanded. Albin and I sat on opposite says of the living room. She rolled her eyes as she gave Albin both of the gifts. “The blue one is from Des and the silver one is from me.” She said as she came and sat on my lap. I wrapped my arms around her and snuggled into her hair. “You’re the best gift ever.”I whispered into her hair. She turned to face me with a sly smile. “I’ll give you your real gift later.” She whispered into my ear before turning back to Albin. A shiver ran down my spine as her hot breath hit my neck.
