Chapter 27: Till Death do us part

DES POV

“Alpha Fredrick.” Justine’s voice was quite innocent, but the words did hold a little more behind them. “Oh, so you not are as young and stupid as your ungrateful Mate thinks.”My arms tightened even more around her waist as she went rigid. “What do you want?” He shook his head at me. “Maybe you’re the stupid one. Let me break it down for you. This is war. The enemies usually attack each other.” My hands tightened up to fist. The man just loved messing with me all so much. He was gluten for punishment, too. My honor and my Mate, the man wasn’t going to know what hit him.

“Why do you want this war so badly?” His hand went up rubbing his chin as he eyed us. “Revenge my little duckling. You know it more than anyone it is a great thing.” “This revenge has made you lose everything. You lost your only son and your mate because of your sick game of revenge.” Justine spat out. “Baby, please don’t talk.” I whispered in her ear. I didn’t want to seem controlling but I was trying to protect her. “Yeah, little one wise up and listen to your mate.” “I am wise.” She hissed at him. “Justine, please.” I begged in her ear. “If you are so wise you would already know that this revenge is because I lost everything. I had nothing else to lose. William was just a Mutt I had with a woman. She wasn’t my mate and never will be. My Mate died years ago before I even stepped up. Did your beloved grandfather tell you how he killed everyone, Including my father and mother. He once said he saw mercy for me. That he didn’t have it in his heart to kill a little boy, but what he did was much worse than kill me. He took everything away and had the monsters that killed my family raise me as their own.”

I swallowed my spit as I looked at the crazed man in front of us. “Now I’m a nicer man then him. I won’t make him live with the death of all his family and friends, he’ll just now before his death that he’s the reason why everyone else is dying. Except her, I have other plans for her.” He said pointing a greasy finger at my beloved Mate. A Growl enveloped the whole school from his threat, alerting every one of the danger and my anger towards the filthy man. “You will never touch her.” I said pulling her even closer to me. “Not, yet but I will.” He had a filthy smirk on his face.

I could sense people running to us, but I didn’t dear turn my attention off of him. I stood there glaring at him hatefully. In moments my sides where flanked with men. Alex was on my right and Daemon was on the side of Justine. It wasn’t just the two of them, but they were the two that I could see without removing my eyes from him. “Was this just a suicide mission?” I hissed at him. “No silly, but as most of your best fighters are here, no one is protecting your Grandfather. I figured lets have the first death the man who started all of this.” As he said that two men came out restraining Grandpa. “Remus.” Daemon growled in a low voice. He was right, one of them holding my Grandfather was no other then Remus.

“Thought you could get rid of me?” Remus asked with a smirk playing on his face. “Don’t talk.” Alpha Fredrick growled at him. He actually flinched back with fear. It was the oddest sight I had ever seen. Justine didn’t seem to be looking at Remus, but staring at the other man. He was a tall bald man with tattoos, but what stood out on him were the deep scares that rippled around his arms. “Des, this is not you. Not how you were raised.”

~Flash back~

Grandpa ripped the weapon out of my hands and put it back at the bottom of his desk draw. He said it was a loaded gun with silver bullets, the only bullets strong enough to kill a werewolf. “Now I told you about it in case of an emergency, but remember you were not raised to kill. Especially with this, but you never know.” I nodded my naïve little head at him and looked at the draw with amazement. “I mean it Des, this is not how you were raised.”
