Chapter 17: Which colour?

Hermione was standing in front of the mirror, trying to get her pair of black skinny jeans on. She jumped around the room, trying to close the jeans, but it just wouldn’t fit. Hermione sighed and pulled it off again, she walked over to the closet and got her black dress out. When she finally managed to pull it on the zipper wouldn’t close. Hermione groaned frustrated and laid down on the bed. She rubbed small circles over her little baby bump and sighed.
‘Why are you making me so fat?’ Hermione whispered.
Hermione felt the baby kick and she couldn’t help but let out a little chuckle. She got up again and took her pair of joggings and a large sweater which belonged to Draco out of the closet and pulled that on instead. She walked into the kitchen and made herself a nice cup of tea before walking into the living room. Draco came into the living room two minutes later and stopped in his track when he saw her sitting on the couch.
‘Mione! What are you doing? Get ready!’ Draco said.
‘I’m not going.’ Hermione said.
‘What! Why not?’ Draco asked walking closer as he straightened his casual shirt and pushed the ends of it in his pants.
‘I’m not feeling well.’ Hermione said.
Draco raised his eyebrows as he sat down on the ground next to her.
‘Hermione, I know you’re lying, what’s really bothering you?’ Draco asked.
‘I’m just feeling really fat! None of my clothes fit me anymore!’ Hermione whined.
Draco chuckled.
‘That’s not funny!’ Hermione said shoving Draco between the ribs.
‘Ouch.’ he groaned before taking her hand.
‘Just take one of the lads out Draco, I don’t want to go.’ Hermione said.
‘Mione, I don’t want to go out with them, I want to go out with you! And you’re not fat babe, you’re pregnant.’ Draco said.
‘I don’t see the difference.’ Hermione said.
Draco smiled.
‘You know I’m right, please Mione, please go out with me.’ Draco said.
Hermione looked down at him and shook her head. Draco put up some big puppy eyes.
‘Don’t do that!’ Hermione said.
‘Please.’ he said tracing kisses from her cheek down her neck, stopping at her collarbone.
‘Please.’ he begged.
‘Sure! But I don’t have anything to wear!’ Hermione said.
‘That’s not true.’ Draco said getting up and walking out of the living room.
‘Where are you going?’ Hermione asked.
Draco came back into the room with something in his hands. He unfolded the fabric and Hermione saw it was a beautiful dark grey dress.
‘How-‘ Hermione started.
‘I just figured you had to wear a new dress for our date.’ Draco said.
Hermione smiled.
‘Thank you Draco.’ Hermione said.
‘You’re very welcome, now get that ass of yours off that couch and get ready.’ Draco said giving her a wink.
‘I love you.’ Hermione said kissing him as she passed him and took the dress from him.
Draco smiled.
‘I love you too baby.’

‘Can I get you something to drink?’ the waiter asked looking at Hermione.
‘Uh, can I have a water?’ Hermione asked.
‘Of course.’ the waiter smiled before he wanted to turn around.
‘And for me a cola, thanks.’ Draco said.
The waiter turned slightly back to note it down before walking away.
‘What the hell was that?’ Draco asked.
Hermione shrugged.
‘I don’t know.’ Hermione said.
‘How’s work going?’ Hermione asked, trying to get Draco stop glaring at the waiter.
‘Fine.’ Draco said looking over at her.
‘How’s your work going?’ Draco asked.
‘It’s okay, the girls are all so nice to me and the patients all ask how I am before I even get the chance to ask them.’ Hermione chuckled.
‘That’s nice.’ Draco smiled.
‘Here are your drinks.’ the waiter said giving Hermione a wink.
Hermione thanked him, not even noticing the wink, but Draco did. They ordered some food before the waiter left again and when the waiter was gone Draco took her hand, which had been resting on the table, in his.
‘Did you see that?’ Draco asked.
‘What?’ Hermione asked raising her eyebrows as she lifted her glass of water up.
‘That waiter was flirting with you!’ Draco said.
Hermione laughed.
‘Sure he was.’ she said taking a sip.
‘He was!’ Draco said.
‘And you say that I’m getting paranoid.’ Hermione chuckled.
‘No seriously!’ Draco said.
‘I’m pregnant Draco and that’s something everyone can see.’ Hermione said.
‘He didn’t, or he has something for pregnant ladies.’ Draco said.
Hermione rolled her eyes.
‘You’re just being weird.’ Hermione said.
‘How are Harry and Ron?’ Hermione asked, trying to change the subject.
‘They’re fine.’ Draco shrugged.
‘Don’t you talk with Ginny every week?’ Draco asked.
Hermione nodded taking another sip of her water.
‘Don’t forget the hospital appointment next Thursday by the way.’ Hermione reminded him.
‘Oh yeah.’ Draco said.
‘Draco, I’m serious.’ Hermione said.
‘Yes, yes I know. Don’t worry I’ll be there.’ Draco said.
‘When’s Ginny throwing that baby shower of yours?’ Draco asked.
‘I don’t know, I’ll just wait and see.’ Hermione shrugged.
‘No offense, but I hope this true love bond that we share will be turned off during you giving birth to our little wonder.’ Draco said in all honesty.
‘You’re horrible. First knocking me up and now you’re not even willing to share the pain.’ Hermione winked.
Draco smiled and nodded. The waiter came back with their food this time and placed the plates in front of them.
‘The plate is hot, so be careful with touching it.’ the waiter told Hermione.
‘Thank you.’ she smiled up at him.
The waiter smiled and nodded before walking away again.
‘Told you!’ Draco said.
‘Draco! You’re going mad! He was just nice!’ Hermione said.
‘I’m not!’ Draco said.
Hermione rolled her eyes and started on her pasta.
‘Anyways, we still have to paint the baby room.’ Hermione said.
‘We still have to buy everything for the baby room.’ Draco said.
Hermione sighed and nodded.
‘I know.’ she said.
‘It’s going to be alright.’ Draco reassured her.
‘Everything will be finished when the baby arrives.’ Draco said.
Draco and Hermione finished their dinner while chatting along. The waiter came to get the empty plates and glasses as they asked for the bill.
‘See, nothing wrong.’ Hermione said as the waiter left to get the bill for them.
‘Here you go.’ the waiter said handing Hermione the bill before walking away.
Hermione handed it over to Draco and when Draco opened it his eyes widened.
‘I’m going mad hu? Well what is his phone number doing here?’ Draco asked showing the numbers written down on the bill.
Hermione chuckled.
‘Good to know I still-‘ Hermione started, but fast stopped midsentence when she saw Draco’s angry look.
Hermione could see by looking at the way he was seated and the way he looked that he was going to do something, which she would regret if she didn’t stop him.
‘Draco.’ Hermione said softly.
‘Draco! Look at me.’ Hermione said.
Draco managed to tear his glare from the waiter and looked at Hermione.
‘Wha-‘ he started, but he couldn’t finish his sentence, because Hermione had cupped his cheeks before kissing him.
‘Now, let’s pay and get the hell out of here.’ Hermione smiled rubbing small circles over her little baby bump.
‘And please, don’t do anything.’ Hermione hissed as Draco closed the little pay map after placing some money in it.
Draco looked up at her.
‘I wouldn’t dare.’ Draco smiled.
‘Hey waiterguy!’ Draco said waving the pay map.
‘Draco!’ Hermione hissed.
‘Don’t worry baby.’ Draco smiled at her.
The waiter walked over.
‘Just wanted to thank you for your excellent service.’ Draco said offering his hand for the waiter to take.
The waiter gave Hermione a strange look before shaking Draco’s hand. Hermione saw Draco was almost breaking the guy’s bones while shaking his hand and she sighed. Draco pulled the guy down so the side of his face was nearby Draco’s moving lips.
‘Don’t you ever flirt with a pregnant woman who’s trying to enjoy her date night out with her husband again.’ Draco said silently before letting him go.
‘Understood?’ Draco asked.
The waiter nodded quickly and didn’t even dare to look at Hermione, he just turned around with the payment and walked away.
‘Muggles.’ Draco muttered before he turned back to look at his wife.
‘Ready to go babe?’ he asked.
Hermione just shook her head disappointedly and sighed before she got up.
‘What?’ Draco asked as they made their way out of the restaurant.
‘No comment, just no comment.’ Hermione said stepping onto the pavement.
