Chapter 24: Girl's day
Hermione closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, tracing small circles on her small baby bump. She listened to the birds tweeting, the leaves rustling as a slight breeze travelled past them, she smelt the lavender in her garden. She let the breath out again, trying to relax before she would go and have a "girl's day" with Ginny and Hayley, but her peace and quiet was interrupted abruptly when the doorbell rang. Hermione sighed and got out of her seat before walking to the front door. 'Good morning.' Ginny smiled, giving Hermione a hug. 'Are you ready? Hayley is waiting in the car.'
'Just let me get my purse.' Hermione said before turning around and walking back into the house. She pulled her coat on and walked towards the parked car on the side of the road. 'Good morning.' Hermione smiled as she got in. 'Good morning.' Hayley called from the driver's seat. 'Ready to get some shopping done?'
'Always.' Hermione chuckled as she fastened her seat belt.
'Let's first drink a cup of coffee somewhere.' Ginny said. 'I don't get why those kids of mine always have to wake up so early.' she muttered.
'We know the feeling.' Hayley laughed, igniting the engine before driving out of the street.
'How is it going with the kids and Fred?' Hermione asked after they've received their orders.
'The kids are all over the place and Fred's constantly joking around.' Hayley chuckled.
'What else would he be doing.' Ginny said.
'He's a big help with the kids though. He's such a great dad to them.'
'How's the shop going?'
'Business is going great actually. George and Fred are renovating their shop in Hogsmeade.' Hayley said, taking a sip of her tea.
'Those guys never stop.' Ginny laughed.
'How time flies.' Hayley sighed, tucking a lock of brown hair behind her ear.
'It certainly doesn't stop.' Hermione said.
'A few years ago I was just working in the hospital and all of a sudden I get this patient who's in a coma. A guy who was dead, appeared to be still alive, Draco Malfoy was a wreck.' Hayley said.
Hermione nodded. 'It were tough times.'
'But you got through them. I honestly thought we had lost you after that last crash.'
'We all did.' Ginny said, turning to look at Hermione.
'But you didn't, and I'm still here.' Hermione grinned.
Ginny rolled her eyes.
'How's Draco doing by the way?'
'Good, he's just really busy with work.'
'They all are.' Ginny nodded.
'Have you talked to Ron lately?' Hermione asked.
'No, have you?' Ginny frowned.
Hermione shook her head. 'I'll ask Draco tonight.'
'Harry said Ron had a fever or something. Nothing major, but he didn't look well.'
'Poor Lavender, two kids and a sick husband.'
'In other words, 3 kids.' Hayley said.
Ginny and Hermione chuckled. 'True.'
'Mummy! Look what I've made at school!' Scorpius said as he ran up to Hermione when she entered the house again. Hermione smiled down at him and took the paper he was holding. 'That's a beautiful car buddy, you made this all by yourself?' Hermione asked.
