Chapter 12: Morning sickness and the girlfriend
Hermione slowly opened her eyes to see her husband lying next to her, fast asleep. A small smile appeared on Hermione's face as she softly caressed his cheeks, not wanting to wake him up, but not being able to keep her hands away from him. They had just gotten back from their honeymoon the day before, but she still felt as if they were still in the honeymoon phase of their lives. Luckily it was weekend, which meant they both hadn't have to go to work. Hermione slowly sat up in bed but just as she wanted to get up Draco grabbed her wrist and pulled her back, pulling her close to him and holding her tightly against his bare chest before pressing a kiss to her cheek.
'Good morning.' he said huskily.
Hermione smiled and turned around in his grip.
'Good morning.'
'How did you sleep?' Hermione asked.
'Like a baby, couldn't be any other way after such a sleepless plane flight.' Draco winked.
Hermione chuckled as she pressed her lips against his.
'What do you want to do today?'
Draco shrugs as he tugs a lock of Hermione's hair behind her ear.
'What do you want to do?'
Hermione tilted her head to the side and bit her lip.
'We could go for a walk in the park?'
'Sounds good to me.' Draco says playing with her hand.
'Isn't it crazy? I still can't believe we're married.' Hermione says looking at her engagement and wedding ring.
Draco let out a deep throaty laugh which made Hermione look up at him.
'Oh baby believe it, we're married.' he chuckled.
Hermione rolled her eyes.
'Perhaps it was a big mistake.' Hermione said.
'Now I'll have to live forever with that exhausting sense of humour of yours.' Hermione sighed.
Draco gave her a wink before pulling her closer again and kissing her on the lips.'Hey Harry.' Hermione smiled, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
'How was your honeymoon?' Harry asked.
'Amazing.' Hermione said.
'How's everything here?' Hermione asked.
'Okay, Ginny's feeling sick though.'
'Morning sickness?'
Harry nodded as a sigh left his mouth.
'She'll be fine.' Hermione reassured him passing him so that he could close the door.
'Where is mister husband?'
'He went to visit Blaise.'
'How's it going with that girlfriend of his?' Harry asked.
'I don't know. Last time I spoke to Blaise he seemed head over heels.' Hermione chuckled.
'Have you met her?'
'Not yet, I'm going over to Blaise's later to meet her, he invited us over for dinner.'
'Why are you here then?'
'Because I wanted to see the both of you and check-up with Gin, it has been awfully quiet the past two weeks.' Hermione chuckled as she walked towards the living room.
'Where is she?'
'Probably in the bathroom.' Harry said pinching the bridge of his nose.
Hermione frowned.
'That bad?'
Harry nodded.
'I'll go check on her.'
'You want some tea?' Harry asked.
'That would be nice, thank you.' Hermione said before walking off to the bathroom where she heard Ginny throw up.
'Oh Gin.' Hermione said rushing to the side of her best friend as she quickly pulled Ginny's hair behind her shoulders and kept it there.
'Hey Hermione.' Ginny groaned.
'You okay?'
Ginny shook her head as another wave of nausea took over and made her throw up in the toilet again.
'Morning sickness I heard.'
Ginny nodded.
'Wait a second.' Ginny said as she placed her hand on her chest and slowly breathed in and out, trying to get rid of the nausea.
'Mum told me she used to chew on something minty, like gum or peppermint, that would help against the nausea.' Hermione said.
Ginny frowned.
'You'd like to try?'
'Sure.' Ginny said softly.
Hermione got up and walked towards the kitchen.
'You've got peppermint?'
'Yeah the right drawer over there.' Harry said pointing behind him.
'Thanks.' Hermione said as she quickly took the pack and made her way back over to the bathroom.
Ginny was still sitting in the same position as Hermione kneeled down next to her again and gave her a peppermint from the small pack she was holding.
'Thanks.'
Hermione nodded as she flushed the toilet.
'Can you get up?' Hermione asked.
Ginny swallowed as she nodded. Hermione offered her hand which Ginny gratefully took before she slowly got up, wrapping one arm around her stomach.
'This is horrible.' Ginny groaned.
'I can imagine.'
They slowly walked towards the living room where Hermione let Ginny sit down before she went off to get a bucket just in case Ginny had to puke once again. As Hermione placed the bucket next to the couch where Ginny was now lying she noticed the small baby bump.
'You've already got a baby bump!' Hermione exclaimed as she sat down next to Ginny, lifting Ginny's legs up before placing them on her lap.
Ginny smiled and nodded as she slowly traced circles on her baby bump with her index finger.
'It's crazy to think that there's a little baby growing inside me.' Ginny said looking up at her best friend.
Hermione smiled.
'Here you go.' Harry said placing two cups of tea on the salon table.
'Thank you.'
'Does Harry take good care of you?' Hermione asked.
'He is.' Ginny smiled as Harry came back with his own cup before sitting down on the seat next to the couch.
'He's been amazing and I haven't heard him complain one single time.' Ginny chuckled.
Harry smiled.
'You haven't been a huge pain in the arse, I don't have anything to complain about.' Harry shrugged as he kissed Ginny's forehead.
Hermione smiled as she looked at two of her best friends and couldn't help but chuckle at how adorable they were together.
