Chapter 29: A trap
Narcissa wandered through the corridors on her way to the Great Hall to meet up with Elizabeth and Isobelle. The students from year 3 to 7 were on their way to Hogsmeade, leaving the school deserted. Narcissa heard great things about Hogsmeade from Holly, Hope and Roxanne the day before and they promised to bring back some sweets for her. Narcissa sat down opposite from Elizabeth and next to Isobelle when she found them playing a game of Wizard chess. 'Hey.' Elizabeth greeted cheerfully.
'You're in a good mood.' Narcissa smiled, leaning her chin on her hand.
'Of course I am.'
'I don't know what has gotten into that girl.' Isobelle said, furrowing her eyebrows as she stared at the chess pieces in front of her before telling one to move.
'Are you still pretending you can't fly towards Potter?' Isobelle asked.
'You told her?' Narcissa asked, turning to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth shook her head. 'I heard you two talk last night when you thought I was sleeping.' Isobelle said, looking up at the both of them. 'You weren't very quiet.'
'Oh, sorry.'
'I still don't get it though.' Elizabeth shrugged. 'He's training you and then you'll beat him in Quidditch, that will hurt.'
'I'm not going to try out!' Narcissa said.
'Yes you are.' Isobelle and Elizabeth said in unison.
'Just tell him.'
'Tell who what?'
The three girls looked up, only to see James sitting down next to Isobelle, opposite Narcissa. 'The Gryffindor table is over there.' Isobelle stated.
'Oh I know, but I wanted to grant you three the pleasure of my presence.' James smirked.
Narcissa rolled her eyes at her friend before turning back to Elizabeth.
'I would move that one over there.' Narcissa said, pointing at one of the pieces. 'Ah thanks.' Elizabeth said.
'Hey! No cheating!' Isobelle exclaimed.
'This is not cheating, she's just helping me.' Elizabeth stated, making the piece move.
'No helping allowed!' Isobelle stated.
'Cissa and I played this game all the time back at home, I can help you.' James shrugged. 'She learned all her moves from me.'
'That's true, he taught me how to play chess.' Narcissa nodded. 'Harry and Ron played it often, mum never really gave it too much attention.'
'Isn't it weird your parents were friends since their first year here.' Elizabeth said. 'And they still are.'
Narcissa shrugged. 'I don't know, they're just really good friends.'
'They did defeat the dark lord, I guess that made their bond even stronger.' James shrugged.
'Going on a hunt for horcruxes, being with just three of them together for so long, that can either mean you'll grow closer to one another, or farther apart.' Narcissa said.
James nodded.
'Are you ready for the try outs?' Narcissa asked.
'I think I am.' James smiled. 'I've been training whenever I could, so I'm quite confident about the whole thing.'
'I hope you'll get a spot in the Gryffindor team.'
'Thanks Cissa, will you come and look at the try outs?'
