Inuyasha and Kagome

Chapter 4

(Inuyasha's POV)
'I really hope Kagome is okay. Her world is so weird. People dressing half naked and wearing black stuff on their eyes.'

"Uhm excuse me sir?"

I look up and see a lady in white looking at me.

"Uhm you talking to me?" I asked I looked around me realizing I'm the only one here.

"Yea, the girl you brought in, Kagome? Yea well she's awake if you wanna see her?"

I jumped up. "Where? Where is she?" I looked around frantically.

"In that room right there 203" She pointed to a wooden board with some clear thing on it. I walked over to it. 'How do I open this thing?' I look over to see a person grabbing the metal stick and pushing it down. I looked back at the door. 'Doesn't seem that hard.' I pushed it and the stick moved down and the door opened. I jumped back and examined it with amazement.

"Uh sir, are you alright?" The lady in white looked at me with concern.

"Pfft if this is where my future is going I don't wanna be a part of it." I mumbled as I walked through the opening.

There in the bed with wheels lay Kagome. As I walked in she smiled that beautiful smile of hers. I ran over to her bed side.

"Kagome! Are you alright!? I'm so sorry! It's all m-" I was cut short by Kagome rubbing my ears. I gave a slight growl and she giggled.

"Inuyasha I'm fine. It's not your fault." She let go of my ears and dropped her hands to her side. Just then I saw the bloody bandage that was wrapped her body.

'I should of been there. How could I not of smelled Naraku or heard Kagome's cries?'

I touched her bandage and sighed.

"Inuyasha really it's my fault I shouldn't of walked away by myself considering our situation. I'm sorry. I'm slowing us down.." She said. She then reached down and grabbed my hand.

"Uh nothing to be sorry about. You just focus on getting better for now, okay?"

"Thanks Inuyasha." She then closed her eyes while still holding my hand. I reached over a pulled a chair to sit along side her. As she was falling asleep I stroked her hand with my thumb. Soon after I fell asleep laying on her shoulder while holding her hand.

(Kagome's POV)
I woke up to Inuyasha asleep on my shoulder, we were still holding hands. My face then turned to a light shade of pink. I tried not to move all that much so I wouldn't wake him. It didn't seem to work because he woke up instantly.

"Kagome?" He said in a tired voice.

"Sorry I woke you up." He then lifted his head and looked into my sleepy eyes. He then realized where he had fallen asleep and that he was holding my hand. He jumped back and his face turned into a bright red.

"Uh uhm I'm sorry." He looked away not able to speak because of his embarrassment. I gave a small chuckle but he seemed to turn brighter. The nurse then walked in with a tray of food waffles, milk, a little cup of fruit, and a chocolate chip muffin. She set on the little table next to my bed.

"How was your night, Ms.Higurashi?" She looked at me with soft blue eyes.

"It was great thanks. Erm just curious is my family coming?" I asked.

The lady looked at me. Her eyes started to glow red and she gave the same devilish smile as.. Naraku. He gave a cold laugh that made a chill go up my spine.

"Your family is dead." She started to grow tentacles out of her back and they started to shoot towards me. They wrapped around me and started to squeeze the life out of me.

"Inuyasha?" I whispered breathlessly. I looked at the half demon and all he did was give a devilish smile just like Naraku.

I woke up with a great jolt. Inuyasha was staring at me with large worried eyes. I had a blanket of cold sweat all over my body and my breathing was heavy.

"Kagome? Are you alright it's okay it was just a dream." He squeezed my hand lightly. I started to sob.

"Inuyasha I was so scared, Naraku-" I started to sob harder. Inuyasha stood up and scooted me over. He climbed into the bed and wrapped his strong arms around me. I buried my face into his chest and cried myself to sleep.

(Inuyasha's POV)

'I hate it when she cries. I hate it when I can't protect her. Especially from fear. I will get Naraku if it's the last thing I do.' I started to play with Kagome's hair. Her scent smelled like lavenders and blood. I buried my face into her hair to try to block out the blood. I drifted off to sleep with the scent of lavenders filling my nose and the woman I seemed to love in my arms.
