Inuyasha and Kagome

Chapter 23

(Inuyasha's POV)

I walked through the woods sniffing out Kikyo, blood still dripping down my hand.

Hopefully Kieda can help Kagome, Kieda is such a big help. I don't know what we'd do without her. She saved Kagome's life once before, but that was with help from her. Will Kieda be able to do it this time?

She can. She'll save Kagome, I have faith in her.

I saw one of Kikyo's soul collectors fly by out of the corner of my eye. I ran after it, as I got closer and close more soul collectors appeared out from behind trees. I must be getting close. I ran faster until I came crashing into a small clearing with a large tree in the middle of it. Kikyo was leaning up against it breathing heavily.

"Oh, it's just you." She panted. I stood there glaring at her and dug my nails deeper into my hand. "Don't just stand there! Come here!" I stood my ground glaring at her. "Oh are you mad because I killed your precious Kagome? We'll get over it!" She shouted and straightened up.

"I'm gonna kill you, Kikyo." I growled.

"You're gonna kill me? HA! I'd like to see you try." She stalked over to me. "You can't hurt me Inuyasha, because you love me. You love me more than the brat Kagome. Admit it Inuyasha!" She know stood in front of me and stared at me with cold eyes. "Come on, Inuyasha. Forget about her. We can run away together and live happily. "

"I'd never want to touch something like you." I smirked and she glared at me.

"Come on don't be that way." She reached out for my hand before I jerked it away quickly.

"You can never make me feel the way Kagome made me feel." I felt tears sting at my eyes. "She made me warm and happy on the inside. I never wanted to admit that because it makes me look weak, but she did. You on the other hand, make me feel dark and cold. You're filled with nothing but bitterness and despair and I will never love you more than I love Kagome. I never loved you, except when you were alive! you only tricked me to think I loved you." She stood there in shock with her mouth open.

"Have it your way." She turned and took a few steps away before turning back quickly while pointing an arrow at me. "Why don't you just die like that brat. Everything will be so much easier if you don't move." She smirked.

I felt my anger consume me, my demon blood was taking over. But this time I did not fight it. My eyes turned red as my nails turned to claws and my canines turned to sharp fangs.

"SHES NOT DEAD!!" I shouted as purple stripes appeared on the side of my cheeks. Kikyo cowered in fear and fell back a couple steps. "BUT YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE!"

"OH PLEASE INUYASHA! YOU DONT TRULY BELIEVE YOU CAN SAVE HER!" She shouted as she slowly backed away. "NO ONE CAN SURVIVE A CRUSHED HEART! UNLESS THERES A POWERFUL PRIESTESS AROUND!" I twisted and twitched as I lost all humanity. "Theres nothing you can do. Kagome is dead."

"NO!" I shouted as my shirt ripped off and I lunged at Kikyo. I slashed and clawed at her, leaving long cuts down her arm and a big gash down her torso. She was bleeding immensely and her kimono was ripped, showing her pale flawless skin underneath.

She fell back against the tree as I closed in on her. I lifted my arm up about to lash out on her, but she held up her hand as if to try and stop me.

"Please!" She gasped. "Please, have mercy on me!" Tears fell down her face as she begged for her life.

"You didn't seem to show Kagome any mercy!" I shouted, I no longer felt pain and sorrow. Only anger and bitterness.

"I had no choice!" She sobbed.
