Inuyasha and Kagome

Chapter 9

In the morning I woke up to Kagome moving around in my arms. I tightened my grip around her slightly and took in her scent. I lifted my head to see if anyone else was awake. They weren't.

"Good morning Kagome." I said as I laid my head back down.

"Mhm."

"Kagome, what happened last night? Did someone hurt you?" She started to breathe a bit heavier and shake.

"I-I don't wanna talk about it." She said quietly. I sighed.

"Okay, tell me when your ready." I said. "Are you hungry?"

"No." She muttered.

"Okay" I sat up and started the fire. 'She must be really shaken. I hope you're okay Kagome.' I turned around and pulled the blanket over her shoulder. I stared at her for a bit longer. Then turned back to making breakfast. Kagome stood up and walked over to her bag.

"I'm gonna go take a bath in the lake." She said. She pulled out the shampoo and conditioner.

"Uh, okay." I said as I watched her walk away. Sango sat up and rubbed her neck.

"Sleeping on the ground is not the way I wanna spend my nights."

"Sango good your awake! Kagome went to bathe in the river. Do you mind talking to her? There's something wrong but she won't talk to me."

"Oh yea! Of course, let me grab a towel quick." She got up, ran to get a towel, and walked towards the river.

(Sango's POV)

I arrived at the river and Kagome was staring at something at the other side. I cleared my throat loudly. She looked over to me and gave a weak smile but it quickly faded.

"Mind if I join you?" She shook her head. I walked into the water and started rinsing out my hair. "So, Kagome how was your night?" Her eyes widened a bit and she didn't answer. "Kagome? What's wrong?"

"Nothing" She mumbled quietly.

"Kagome, you know you can tell me anything. Right?" She sighed and looked at me from her bandaged hands.

"I had a dream, no a vision or something last night while I was washing dishes. Naraku was talking to me. He said I'm going to kill Inuyasha." Tears started to fall from her cheeks. "He's gonna make me kill Inuyasha! Sango I couldn't live with myself if I hurt him! I-I" She started to sob into her hands. I walked over to her and hugged her. It wasn't a tight hug because you know, we're naked.

"Kagome, it's gonna be okay. Naraku isn't gonna get to you let alone Inuyasha. He wouldn't let him neither would any of us. Your not gonna kill Inuyasha." Her sobs started to soften.

"Really?" She lifted her head up from her hands and looked at me with red eyes.

"Promise." I gave her a reassuring smile.

"Okay."

"Okay let's wash up and eat. I'm starving!"

"Me too." She giggled. We washed are hair and dried our bodies. Once we were dressed we walked back up to everyone. Inuyasha looked up from his plate. He looked at me and I gave a reassuring smile. He smiled and looked at Kagome. She hesitated and weakly smiled. She walked over to Inuyasha and sat down next to him. She picked up a plate of food and started eating.

I smiled and looked over to see Miroku staring at me. I snapped my head away and blushed. 'Oh my gawd. He was staring at me. Does he like me? No, he doesn't. Why would he like me?' I turned back to him eating with a little pink on his cheeks. I sat down next to him and picked up a plate.
