(Kagome's POV)
I woke up to something scurrying outside of my hut. It had been weeks since I had eaten a decent meal, and that was with Inuyasha and the others. I slowly stood grabbing my bow and crossing the floor to the door. Once I reached the flap I quickly stepped around the wall and shot the small raccoon. I seem to be getting better at that. I pulled the arrow out of the limp body and brought it inside the hut to get it prepared.
I finished the raccoon and decide to go get some water from the river, taking the fishing poles with me. Dipping the buckets it and casting the hook, I waited. Looking at the beautiful ocean I had never seen before now. There has been a lot of places I haven't been to until I met Inuyasha and the others. I do not regret meeting them no, they are great people and I love them. But that is the problem, I grew to love them and got to attached. That was my own mistake and now I have to suffer everyday as my punishment for my doings.
I should of known great things don't last, I should of saw this coming. I wish I would listen to my mind and not my heart. My mother always said to follow my heart but look where that got me! I'm sorry mother but as of now my heart no longer has a mind of its own. I follow my brain and only my brain. I will make reasonable and smart decisions.
Something began tugging on the this line and I quickly pulled in a large blue fish. Dropping it into the empty bucket and casting once again.
After a fish or two, I gathered the buckets and the pole. Trudging up the steep hill I felt this odd feeling in my stomach. The feeling I usually get when I.. Sense a sacred jewel shard, and this was larger than just one or two. This was practically the whole jewel.
There's only one person who could have the jewel, Naraku.
I ran up the hill, the jewel coming closer and closer. I ran inside the hut dropping my things by the door and poured the water on the fire.
"Kagome." Naraku said coldly outside the door. I quickly picked up my bow and spun around. Naraku stepped through the doorway. "Ah, there you are." He smiled, his bones reaching out towards me.
"Get back!" I shouted and shot at him. My arrow dissolved once it hit his barrier.
"Kagome, even your sacred arrows can't break my barrier." His bones grew nearer and nearer as I shot frantically. I reached over to grab another arrow but I found myself empty handed. I backed away as the bones wrapped around my ankles. I stomped down on them and they shattered. I took another step back and my back hit the wooden wall and his bones wrapped around my body.
"You have no where to run, Kagome." He stood in front of me and stroked my cheek with the back of his cold hand. "Such a shame really. Just think about how devastated Inuyasha will be to see you under my control. But on the bright side," He leaned foward and whispered in my ear. "Your spiritual powers will be enough to put him out of his misery." His breath blowing softly into my ear and my body tensed.
This was his plan all along. He knew I would end up leaving, he knew this would happen. How did I not see this coming!
"He won't come." Naraku stepped away. "I bet he's not even looking for me." I struggled to keep my voice from breaking.
"Oh, but that's where you're wrong. He's been searching far and wide for you, and I don't think he's going to stop until he finds you." He smiled. "Young love can really ruin you. If you hadn't fallen in love and you wouldn't feel this way now. Admit it, you regret everything. Meeting him and your friends, falling into the well-"
"No! I don't! I'm glad I met them, they opened my eyes! They showed me things I thought I would never see! They showed me happiness and friendship! Not cruelty and hate, that's all you're made out of." I practically spat the last part in his face.
