Inuyasha and Kagome

Chapter 10

(Inuyasha's POV)

When we showed up to Kieda's house Sango was sitting on one end of the hut and Miroku on the other.

"I can feel the awkwardness." I whispered to Kagome.

"Right?" We walked in and dropped the bags. Everyone lunged for the food. Shippo grabbed as much candy as he could grab and Sango and Miroku grabbed the same bag of chips. They dropped it on the ground.

"Uh sorry. Here you can have it." Sango slid the bag over to Miroku.

"No you can have it." He slid the bag back over to her.

"No I don't even want it." She slid back to him.

"Then why did you grab it?" He slid it back to her.

"I'll take it." I walked over and swiped the bag of chips.

"Hey!" They said in unison. They looked at each other and quickly looked away. Kagome grabbed a bag of sour cream and onion and sat by me. Sango quickly grabbed a bag of potato chips and sat by Kagome. Miroku grabbed barbecue and sat on the other side. Shippo sat in the corner with Kirara eating candy while she ate a fish.

"We should probably head out tomorrow don't you think?" I said and looked around at everyone. They nodded in agreement and continued eating their food. Once Kagome and I finished. I grabbed her hand and she laid her head on my shoulder. Kieda stared at us.

"Inuyasha can I speak to yee for a moment. Alone." I glanced at Kagome.

"Okay yea sure." I let go of Kagome's hand and stood up. I held the curtain open for Kieda to walk through and walked outside. We walked through the village as we talked.

"Inuyasha have you asked Kagome to be your mate yet?" She asked. I completely forgot about that.

"No, not yet."

"Yee should do that quickly."

"Why?"

"If yee do not seal the bond before the new moon yee and Kagome may never mate."

"But that's next week!"

"Yes it is."

"Okay I'll ask her tonight." I walked back to the hut alone. I walked through the door and sat back down next to Kagome. She laid her head back down on my shoulder and grabbed my hand.

"Inuyasha are you alright? You seem a little tense." I shook my head. I wonder what's she's gonna say when I tell her. As night fall came close I became more anxious.

"Kagome, can I talk to you?"

"Oh yea sure." We walked out of the hut. "What is it?"

"Let's walk." I explained everything to her how we have to seal the bond before the new moon, everything.

"Okay, yea I get that concept."

"So what I really need to say is." I cleared my throat. Here it goes. "Kagome, will you be my mate?" She paused. She paused like she hesitated, this made me extremely nervous.

"Yes." I was shocked.

"Yes?" I felt as if I could jump to the moon.

She laughed. "Yes!"

"Woo-hoo!!" I yelled. This was it the start of mine and Kagome's life together. I grabbed her hand and we walked back to the hut together. I couldn't stop smiling. We walked in and everyone stared at us.

"What are you so smiley about?" Shippo said.

"Nothing" I smiled bigger. "Absolutely nothing."

That night I went to bed the happiest man alive. I closed my eyes while still smiling.
