(Miroku's POV)

Last night Sango, Shippo, and Kirara left to find Kagome. Leaving me and Inuyasha alone.

I very reluctantly stood back as Sango said goodbye. She gave Inuyasha a hug and simply nodded at me as she walked by. The least I expected was a handshake or a hug but a nod is just plain rude to your fiancé

Inuyasha was being the biggest jerk anyone could ever be. He made rude comments on how bad I messed up with Sango, or how I was so "Controlling and uptight" and how Sango was probably the only woman I was gonna find that liked me. I mean really, I AM NOT UPTIGHT and I am quite attractive.

Okay maybe I would yell at Inuyasha for doing something dangerous or I always have to choose which way to go but, someone's gotta keep that boy inline while Kagome is gone. Without me he would probably be lost or dead somewhere.

And I'm probably not the best looking guy.

But Inuyasha has been a disaster since Naraku got away. He doesn't sleep or eat, he's getting skinner by the second and has dark shadows under his eyes. And the lack of sleep just makes him crabbier.

"I'll take watch tonight." I said as I leaned against a tree. Inuyasha was sitting by the fire. The light danced on his skin, lighting his tired and old looking face.

"No. I don't expect someone like you to stay up all night." He said coldly.

"So what. You need to get some rest, you haven't slept in how long now?" I'm not letting him stay up all night again.

"So what? Look Munk." He stood up and stomped up in front of me. "Without us keeping watch we could die, we could be eaten or attacked while we're sleeping."

"We didn't keep watch with the others." I said crossing my arms.

"They were light sleepers." He said in a matter of factly tone.

"Oh please. They'd sleep till noon if we let 'em." His face turned slightly red from frustration.

"JUST LET ME TAKE WATCH AND KEEP QUIET!" He shouted, spitting a few droplets onto my face.

"No. Go to sleep Inuyasha." I said sternly as I wiped the spit off my face.

"No." He smirked and crossed his arms. "You can't make me."

Inuyasha's body can't handle staying up another night, I have to make a plan. And as if a light bulb turned on in my head I had an idea.

"Fine." I smiled and walked over to the fire.

"Why are you smiling." Inuyasha asked with concern.

"I'm just glad I don't have to stay up." Inuyasha came over and sat by me, still staring at me curiously. "You thirsty? I got this water back at Kieda's. It's delicious."

"Yea actually. My throats pretty dry." Inuyasha said, the look of anger and curiosity wiped off his face.

I smirked even wider and stood up to grab the water container from my bag that was by the tree. While Inuyasha's back was turned to me, I picked up the container and a vile with a dark purple potion. The sleeping potion.

I pored a few drops into the water and slipped the vile back into my bag. I stood up and walked over to Inuyasha.

"Here." I handed the water to him.

"Thanks." He unscrewed the cap and took a large gulp of the potion. He screwed the cap back on and handed it back to me. "Wow what did you put in this? I'm suddenly..extremely..tired." He said drowsily.

"A sleeping potion." I said setting down the water in the grass.

"What.." He tried to say angrily but ended up falling over and entering into a deep sleep. I smiled to myself and poured out the water in the grass.
