The smoke was getting heavier by the minute and Kelly couldn't find Stella. Thankfully he was already hearing the fire trucks sirens, he didn't know who had time to call but someone did. He got low so that he wouldn't inhale too much smoke but it was already had to breath and as he got on the ground, he was able to see a bit better.
Which made it easier for him to finally find Stella, he had to drag her on the side accross the side if the apartment where the fire wasn't yet getting at. Same side in which Sky's room was. The way to the door was impossible, he knew they would have to rescue them through one of the windows. He dragged Stella's unconscious body into Sky's room, he quickly gathered some sheets and put them under the door. Sky was still asleep, and so he refused to wake her up. He was sitting on the floor with Stella in between his legs.
"Come on Stella!" he said desperate trying to wake her up.
Waiting on the firefighters seemed like a forever wait, but as soon as they got to them Kelly felt a relief. He grabbed Sky, and one of the firefighters took Stella.
"Please be careful with her"
He was worried, and nervous so nervous that he didn't even remember to check her pulse. They had them in different ambulances, and not being able to know how Stella was was just too much for him. He was himself coughing bad but that didn't matter.
They got to the hospital and all he wanted was to see Stella.
"Listen we can't let you right now, they're taking of her. We have to check you and your daughter"
And so he let them take Sky but he refused to stay and get checked out. And so he just stayed in front of Stella's room until he was given more info. But while waiting he saw his mother, and was surprised to see her there this fast when he hadn't even called her yet.
"I am the one who called, i was coming back to see you guys. Hoping you wouldn't be asleep just yet, and then i saw the fire" she explained quickly and still shaking "how are you"
"I am good, I don't know about Stella tho" he said worried.
"And Sky?"
"She's okay, they took her to check on her but i feel like she has nothing. She was the safe one, thank God"
"Well i am going to go be with Sky, don't worry. Make sure Stella is ok"
He nodded and he stayed right there in front of the room. No one was making him budge. After a couple of coming in and getting out of the room, Will came out to talk to him. He could see that Stella was awake, so that was probably a good sign.
"Stella and your baby girl are completely fine. We got her on oxygen just to regulate everything but other then that, they're perfect."
"Thank you"
He went in, sat on the bed and took Stella's hand in his.
"Hey" she said through the oxygen mask.
"I got scared" he said in the sweetest voice.
"I know but i am ok"
And then she remembered Sky, she had fallen before being able to get to her. She took off the mask.
"Where is she?"
"She's okay" he reassured her "my mom is actually with her, now put your mask back on"
And so he put it back for her, and he got to rubbing her belly.
"Do you need anything?"
"I am good with you just holding my hand"
