Part 23 : whats wrong

Stella just didn't want to pay any mind to Kelly, at the end of the day he was just drunk and she could understand that this particular matter would not leave his mind.

"Come on, i'm going to give you some coffee. You're going to take a shower and then sleep because this is unacceptable"

"But opening your legs for Manuel wasn't right?"

She knew she couldn't say anything about that because it was true, but she had never said it was acceptable for her to do so.

"I never said it was, but i was truthful with you. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't disrespect me in the process"

"I'm just hurt ok, i was fearing this. You not loving me the same way you loved him" he said a bit whiny.

"Manuel is dead ok, i told you live your life. Erica seems like a nice girl, why don't you try something out with her. The only thing we have together are our kids ok"

"It's easier said than done" he said frustrated.

She then made some coffee for Kelly, and he took a shower. She brought some covers for him and a pillow.

"Here you go" she handed it to him.

"thank you, but i should actually get going. I'm better now"

"You can stay and leave in the morning, Sky will be happy to see you"

Stella hated to feel that way, she was feeling already guilty enough but she thought it was maybe the price to pay. So Kelly decided to stay and then he fell asleep.

The next morning Stella woke up to a Sky sleeping on her daddy's chest. She loved to see the love between those two but as she went in the kitchen and got herself some water, Severide was already behind her.

"Oh you're up" she said not expecting to see him.

"Yeah, um i wanted to say sorry. I'm not sure what i told you last night but i just wanted to apologize"

"It's ok" she said softly.

And to her it was, she had made peace with what Kelly had told her. He quickly drank a bit of water.

"Here, take my car if you'd like. You get it back to me when you can." She said as she handed him her keys.

"It's ok i'll just take the bus and walk a bit, i need the fresh air"

She didn't fight with him, he left and kissed Sky goodbye.

Time started passing by, and Kelly had gotten closer to Erica. Stella was happy in a way but it still made her feel some type of way. Sky was slowly getting better and could spend most nights sleeping by herself. Mills was spending a lot of times with Stella whenever she was feeling a bit down and Stella was still going to see her dad everyday. He was helping her a lot sorting her emotions through, Bianca's death was all of a sudden feeling better in her heart and she was slowly accepting that she was gone. But she still wasn't talking about one thing.

It had been a total of four months, four months without Kelly and four months were Kelly couldn't help but picture Stella and Manuel. Of course getting to know Erica had helped and so he decided that if he wanted his mind to finally heal he had to take that step further.

"It's a really nice restaurant" she said as she smiled at him.

"I chose it because it's a special moment, Erica we've been getting to know each other for a bit of time now. maybe your head is not thinking about this right now but would you like to be my girlfriend" he asked a bit shyly.

"Of course, i'd love to" she said as she grabbed his hands.

He smiled, he didn't know if this was the road to recovery. Or maybe it was exaggerating to think this was considered as recovery but thats how he felt it. At the end of the day Stella was the one to ask him to live his life and that's exactly what he was doing. They ordered and had an amazing time together, he then dropped her off at home.
