Chapter 22
Rehearsal & Secrets●●●
Ortiz de Rozaz palace
It was already seven in the morning when Madrid and Sofia were back at the city. Gonzalo Martin, Madrid Anselmo's private secretary and personal butler, was already outside, waiting for them. Fia then looked at the weather through the window. It was a little cloudy and humid. A good weather for the rehearsal.
"I'll see you at the cathedral." She nodded.
"Okay. See you." She simply answered. She noticed Madrid Anselmo was biting his lower lip like he was stopping himself for something. Hesitantly, he leaned in and gave her right cheek a quick kiss. Fia just smiled in response. He was the one to be crowned so he needs to be there in every step of the event.
"Your majesty," Gonzalo bowed at her. Madrid Anselmo specifically instructed the old man to accompany her during the whole day rehearsal. She smiled at him.
"Good morning, Gonzalo." She greeted him.
"Ma'am, your assistant, Ms. Villagomez, is not yet here. She has been gone for five days already. She's with Prince Phaedron. As what I have learned, the prince told the other royal staff that Ms. Villagomez will accompany him at his Batanes trip and they'll be back during the coronation day."
Napatigil si Fia mga yapak niya, "Gonzalo, can I ask something?"
"Yes, Ma'am."
"When I became the Queen, am I right that all of the royal household staff, will be under my care? Not even any royal member can order the staff to do what they want without asking or telling me about it first. Sa pagkakaintindi ko, ako na ang masusunod unless if I gave a certain permission or instruction to them."
"Yes."
"Next time, Gonzalo," She took a deep breath, maintaing the authority in her voice, "Ayokong hindi sinasabi sa 'kin ang mga nangyayari sa mga staff natin. Not even Prince Phaedron. He's not allowed to order any of our staff to do any of his requests. Unless he relays it to me and if I approve it."
Gonzalo didn't speak. He looked like he was internalizing every word that she said.
Then the old man nodded, agreeing to her terms. "Yes, I will take note of it, your grace."
