Chapter 30
Nice... while it lasted•👑•
Mr. Ferrosa, Madrid Anselmo's private investigator didn't know what to say after what Madrid answered. The PI couldn't believe it himself. Somehow, Madrid noticed Mr. Ferrossa looked scared for a second.
"I may have planned it, Mr. Ferrosa but I never executed the plan," he immediatey replied and he could sense a sense of relief from the PI. "I never instructed anyone to shoot my wife. It wasn't and will never be a good idea," Madrid let out a frustrated sigh, "I could never do that to her."
"Then... who?"
Napatingin si Madrid dito. Kahit siya ay hindi niya alam kung sino...
But he already has someone on his mind.
"Did anyone know the plan besides yourself?"
He fell silent, thinking the possibility of that person...
"Y-Yes," he answered, staring down on the table. "Mr. Ferrosa, this meeting is done. Contact me again whenever you have finally gathered enough evidences to incriminate the Prime Minister and the other people who might be involved." He stood up first.
Sumunod namang tumayo si Mr. Ferrosa. They shook hands, "Very well. I'll get back to you as soon as possible, your grace."
Umalis kaagad siya at bumalik na sa convention hall kasama si Gonzalo. When Madrid was back, he immediately went to Sofia Elena and sat beside her. He was almost half an hour gone. Napansin siya kaagad nito.
She held his hand, squeezing it. "How was the talk?"
He smiled at her, giving her forehead a light kiss, "I'll tell you at the hotel after the dinner."
She nodded. "Kumain ka na. Pinag-reserve na kita ng food dito."
At the corner of his eye, Madrid Anselmo noticed Natalie, just a few meters away from them, staring at him. Nang mapansin nitong nakatitig na siya rito, kaagad nang-iwas ng tingin si Natalie sa kanya, like she was caught off guard. He sighed. He went back entertaining and smiling at the guests.

Natalie was staring at the ceiling and had been sighing a number of times now. Hindi na niya alam kung ilang beses na siyang napapabuntong-hininga. At her right side, she looked at the digital clock on the night stand. She was currently in her hotel room and she knew it was already late at night.
