Chapter 40
The Crown• 👑 •
Ortiz de Rozaz palace
Madrid Anselmo was looking through the window as he watched the vast surroundings outside the Ortiz de Rozaz. The sky was surrounded by dark clouds like anytime it was going to rain. It was still early in the morning and last night, the prime suspects of his father's and sister's deaths were finally arrested.
Bigla may kumatok sa pinto ng opisina niya. A royal staff has arrived and bowed down his head. "Your majesty, Sir Richard Montez, your chief of staff."
He looked back and nodded at the staff. Pumasok kaagad si Sir Montez. He also bowed down his head as courtesy to him. Iniwan na silang dalawa ng staff sa loob.
"Your majesty," Sir Richard Montez started. "The three suspects are now staying at Metro City Correctional Facility. As per the law, they will be provided with their own lawyers. But with the evidences gathered by Mr. Ferrosa's investigation, it will be enough for the prosecution to win the case."
Madrid didn't speak and was internalizing everything. He looked at his chief of staff. "Make sure the prosecution will go for the death penalty. What they did is heinous and a very heavy crime since they murdered not just any ordinary person, my father who was a King and my sister, who was the crown princess. They will be given no mercy."
"Yes, Sir, the prosecution assured us that death penalty will be given to them." Sir Montez replied. "But the Duchess, since she was only an accessory as she only covered the tracks for the former Prime Minister and Lady Violetta... What penalty do you want her to have, your grace?"
Napatigil si Madrid sa tanong nito. Napaisip siya.
"She'll be exiled. Banishment from this country." He simply answered. "She's not allowed to live nor stay in the country anymore. I want her out." He added authoratively.
Sir Montez, who didn't expect his answer, nodded. "Very well, Sir."
Huminga siya ng malalim at tumalikod. His hands were on his back, staring again through the window of his office. "Where's my wife, Mr. Montez?"
"Uh, Sir, the Queen, I am afraid she's not here..."
Kumunot ang noo niya at nilingon ito.
"Lady Zuñiga just relayed to me earlier, last night, the Queen went to her ancestral home, the Snowdon. She visited Lady Violetta."
