You met Draco on your first train ride to Hogwarts on your first year. You don't have any friends and you don't know where to sit. He saw you pass by their compartment a few times and figured that maybe you are looking for somewhere to sit. When you past by their compartment for the last time, he opened the door, asked you if you wanted to sit with them, and you gladly accepted his offer. Since that day, you considered Draco Malfoy as your best friend and you trust him with every single secret and stories that you wanted to share.

Since then, the two of you were inseparable. You can trust him with basically anything, from one of your embarrassing moments in class to your crushes that you would often change because you don't really take that kind of stuff so seriously. He would listen to your stories and to your rants, and he basically knows everything about you, and you know everything about him as well. You were the first one who would know about his exam or quiz scores, or his hatred towards Harry Potter who basically turned him down even though Draco was just trying to befriend him. Basically you were his best friend and he is yours.

You two also shared some firsts together, like your first Hogsmeade visit was with him, the first time you rode a broomstick because your parents were too scared to teach you when you were younger was with him, your first detention was also with Draco Malfoy for being late in a class because you were trying to wake him up and he just won't wake up. According to him, he was up late because he was still doing the Charms essay that was also due the same day, on the first subject. Also, you shared your first kiss with him.

He took you to the Yule Ball as his date. At this point, you were starting to develop feelings for him because that year, he was extra kind to you. You were scared to tell this feeling to him because cliche as it sounds but you were afraid to ruin your friendship with him. He was so dear to you that the thought of him not being in your life, him not being your friend made you scared that you broke the rules both of you had. And that is to not keep anything, I mean anything from your best friend.

But during the Yule Ball, you told him how you feel, and it resulted with him stealing your first kiss. Don't get me wrong, you loved it, it was magical. It was the first time you ever felt butterflies in your stomach. He also told you that he likes you since second year, that is why he always wants to be around you. He also swore to you that no matter happens, the friendship that you built will never be broken for you mean a lot to him and he means a lot to you. That night, he also asked you if you could go out with him as his girlfriend, and of course, you agreed.

Nobody suspected anything different between you and Draco in the weeks after the Yule Ball because you two treat each other the way you two normally treat each other when you were still friends. You two still spend a lot of time together, and you two were still inseparable. Of course, there are some subtle changes with the way Draco treats you. He's very protective of you and he would easily get jealous if you are talking to other boys that is not him nor your friends. Whenever he does this, you would just roll your eyes and tell him to trust you, and that you love him so much that cheating or being with other guys that isn't him don't cross your mind. At this, he would only smile at you, and would kiss your forehead, mumbling a "Sorry" to you.

You two don't also show too much affection to each other, especially if it is on public places like the Great Hall or in the common room, and this contributed to the fact that nobody was suspecting that the two of you are already dating. Its not that you aren't proud of him or vice versa, you two just want to keep it lowkey because you don't tell the world, or show the world that how you love somebody, but you should show the person you love how much you love them and how much they mean to you.
